Chances were created, Aussies failed to grab them. And those two disabled batsmen showed a level of mental toughness, determination and guts which you rarely see in our sport. Anyway I am talking about Indian pitches in 2016-19 period, think you misunderstood my post. Yoda-esque 1
Yoda-esque Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 I think Kohli could take 5 wickets here with that cute action of his..

As was the one RSA got in Nagpur 2015. This one has been comparable to Mohali 2015. Some of the batting has been rank which has made it look worse than it is. Banglore 2017 was not bad at all. It was fast bowlers who kept Indians in the match in that test in the first innings when spinners were not able to do anything. Pune 2017 and Nagpur were worse than this pitch.
SK_IH Posted February 25, 2021 Author Posted February 25, 2021 Fans who are getting worried about how these pitches will discourage fast bowlers, should be realistic. This is not how things work lol raki05 1

After the first test, the captain & TM have decided for result oriented wickets which are challenging from day 1. Also, I think this is the inherent nature of this pitch. I heard even pitches for domestic T20s were ordinary. I see absolutely no wrong in these kinds of pitches. Trust me this pitch's quality or lack of has been excerbated by two ordinary batting lineups. Look at the shots of Bairstow, Rohit, Rahane, Stokes etc You may be right, maybe I am overreacting. Just that 2 day finish leaves a very sour taste, insult to our sport and all fans. Singh bling 1

Sandeep99 Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 The pitch has been very decent. The batting from both sides has been extremely shoddy. TheWall, nevada, raki05 and 1 other 4
rollingstoned Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Even if the pitch spins a lot i don't get how so many are playing down the wrong line. I'd think you should be able to read that from the hand. Even pujara got out like that whose judgement is usually impeccable in this regard. Legendary_Bhakt and RAZPOR 2

Bounce was very inconsistent in Bangalore. I remember Smith getting a disgusting grubber from Yadav in the 2nd innings. Great Test though. Probably my favorite win under Kohli. SK_IH 1

Yes pitches should have been like 2016-17 series but I think losing first test and injuries to Shami and Jadeja have made them gun shy. Gollum 1

But honestly batting is the culprit here, guy like Rahane has always looked clueless against spin. Indian team is filled with guys like him.Kohli get lot of publicity as a great player of spin but he is not great all against spin.
putrevus Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 What was Johnny Bairstow doing in this test.If you see the replays, I could bat better honestly. Kohli yesterday going back to cut , which sane batsman does that , it was ridiculous shot to play in the last over. RAZPOR 1

putrevus Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 If India cannot score 38 runs then India does not deserve to play test cricket. GeeGaw 1
