prepare a road with some help for spin. make sure pitch lasts 4.5 days atleast. otherwise let alone padosis, even some of our own supporters would have a mental breakdown as they have this nauseating desire to be appreciated by the brits or else their lives become meaningless.

Imagine thinking wanting a test match to last more than 5 sessions is just to be appreciated. Grown adults watch sports for entertainment, not for some stupid sense of victory or some random scoreline. The Aus series was so entertaining because it was hard fought, not because we blindly got 2-1. Sports is for entertainment, not some flag waving and fake patriotism

Very true, but is it possible to create a pitch where spinners are able to dominate and making it last for five days. It is not that easy to get those tracks. Once India had all the injuries and lost first test did they have any other options. Australian series is once in 100 years event. You cannot base anything on it.

I can gurantee you if same Indian team turns up there for next 99 times on that Gabba wicket, Australians will win 99 times.

I think deliveries that got a lot of wickets when they didn’t turn. I feel pink ball also may have contributed to this unexplained phenomenon why some deliveries remained straight with exactly same action. To me it was probably ball that made difference then actual pitch

Posted

Btw, that seAm on pink ball is so inviting to a pacer on grassy wicket.. Anyone knows any pink ball match that happened in England. I would love to see a scorecard under cloudy grassy wivcket

Would Shahbaz Nadeem have the same effect as Axar. It is very much like Ohja vs Panessar. Panessar would fire the same delivery over and over again.I don't think Cook or KP although were brilliant  in 2012 would have succeeded if Jadeja or guy liek Axar played in that series., Ohja and Ashwin did not have the pace to hurry them. Ashwin needs Jadeja or Axar to compliment him.

Don't watch then? No one is stopping you. Context matters. India are missing 3 of their best players and add Mayank too because he is a good player of spin.

India did what they had to do to 'win'.

If India had to lose some degenerate so called 'fans' in  the name of entertainment then so be it. Goodbye.

The Indian team keeps rolling.

If Axar played first test India would not have lost that test. He bowling is made for Indian pitches .Kudos to him and he is the third spinner for Indian pitches once Jadeja is back.

No.

The toss was the most crucial aspect of the first test. The pitch deteriorated rapidly after Day 2.

In my opinion, most of the collapse here was because of the pink ball which was gaining pace of the wicket. Match would have lasted at least day 4 if it was a red ball. The batsmen missing straight ones (from both sides) was omnious

Why should I stop watching and why should jignostic people decide what is good?

India can win on  any pitch unlike what the cowards pretending to be fans here claim. We dominated at home for 5+ years with sporty pitches

In the 90s we prepared such pitches and our pace bowlers languished and we never developed pacers till late 2000s. You want us to go back to those ways. Imagine bowlers like Siraj playing on these pitches

This was the shortest match since world War 2 and instead of praising the players entire world is talking about the pitch.

Watch or don't watch, no one gives a rat's butt about it. Indian team don't care about some fickle sychophant fans. They have plenty of other intelligent fans.

I am sure India can win even on sporting tracks. It was surprising to see the pitch being this much of rank Turner. However they probably din't want to risk it with 3 or 4 of our best players being injured.

India probably would have thrashed them regardless but they lost the 1st so I guess they din't want to risk it.

Yea they  have  plenty of short sighted fools who would rather see their fast bowling legacy destroyed. Don't pretend jignostic people like you represent indian fans, we have come a long way from the 80s and 90s when we behaved like nationalistic Bangladesh fans do today. Indian fans today are mature and don't define their lives by victories and defeats, they have way more success in life and career and country going on

As I said in my other post, this is going to set our fast bowling back 5 to 10 years. Bowlers like siraj developed on sporting pitches. Ishant,  Yadav, shami average less than 25 in last 5+ years and had their second coming on sporting pitches

We are going back to Dhoni era where bumrah and ishant are being destroyed this series and no one will want to be a fast bowler again.

I absolutely would be furious if our fast bowling curlture gets destroyed. I totally understand what you are saying. I believe it's a one off. Also pink ball din't help.

Just chill man. We will see some sporting tracks soon. Had Siraj and bumrah operated together rather than Ishant who is a Sena specialist, India would have wreaked havoc as they complement each other.

I will be very upset if we prepare such tracks in the future because it undermines our fast bowling which is the best in the world.

Remember bumrah hasn't played in India for a long time and neither has Siraj. Hence India took the conservative approach.

Had Shami umesh been there, I guarantee you we would have seen spring venues.

One series doesn't define how our fast bowlers will suddenly become extinct in future.   Don't need to become too negative.

We will be back to sporty tracks in our next home series as batsman also need to boost their numbers once kiwis come.

No need of wrist slitting

2001 Eden test is also once in a 1000 years event but that was a major turning point in our cricket history. Likewise Aus series could have been that major turning point again but with a shortsighted bunch of pussies in the TM, who have ZERO confidence in their own team's ability to win on proper spinning tracks, all those gains have been frittered away.

Why even pretend to play on such play pitches, better to have a bowl out, our accurate spinners will win anyday over England. Let this be a proper lottery. Saves everyone's time and gives the TM and the 'patriotic fans' the wins and a place in the WTC final.

Last test wasn't a rank turner one India scored 600+ in two innings and it was England who were bamboozled by the the so called threat,it was all part psyops by Indian party which worked here as well ,Pink ball just skidded through people's defences

Pink ball fairly has a novelty factor to which batsmen will come to the terms the more they play

So plz don't try to brand the pitches as rank turners

The 2nd test pitch had not been watered for 3 days before the start of the test, every single blade of grass was shaved off, ball started to explode off the pitch from the 2nd over. Ball was turning miles on all days, it was two paced due to dryness and cracks. It was a rank turner. See how Root was getting sharp spin in the last session on day 1. Moeen f****g Ali was bowling like Murali.

Because some of our batsmen managed to score runs does not make it a better pitch.
