  1. 1. Should the XI be dominated by DC and MI players to give us the best chance of ending T20I title drought?

Who is the keeper?

Pant or Ishaan?

In the T20 format, I'd have Ishaan as the keeper and play one of Pant/KL. Mostly KL.

Can't see place for Pant in our T20 side.

Or perhaps 2 of the three: KL/Pant/Ishaan can play given the conditions.

pant shud keep, ishan keeping isnt great

Pant has been devastating in IPL...all 3 can play easily infact DK can be added to

MI should have the biggest influence on India T20 team.  DC continue to anchor the dominance of the test side.

MI's dominance as the IPL powerhouse is to a large extent down to Rohit's calm leadership. Of course the entire franchise setup is great but Rohit is the one getting the best out of that group of players on the field. No wonder they have won 5 of the last 8 IPL trophies and a CLT20 trophy under him. That 6 trophies our of a possible 9.

It's a shame he has been bypassed as the captain of T20 team for a pretender who hasn't won anything as a captain at the senior level.

To replicate MI's success at international level, first thing that needs to happen is for Rohit to be the captain. Other things will naturally fall in place.

Pant, proper keeper and we are going to see the best of him in white ball cricket in the future. As good as Kishan is (and I do rate him highly) Pant's ceiling is at another level, devastating!!!  If we can tap Pant's potential, we'll see a once in a generation ODI/T20 player (already seen what he can do in tests) who will be the benchmark for all future keepers, the neo-Gilchrist. He is one of the main reasons I pledged undying loyalty to DC:aha: , must back a player of Pant's calibre looking past stats tables, we all know it is only a matter of time before he starts showing his true worth in T20I and what a sight that will be!!!!! Moreover both him and Kishan will be in my XI as we need more lefty bats in our top 8, one of the main reasons teams like MI, Eng, WI are so good in this format is because they mostly have L-R combo operating in the middle making life difficult for opponent captains/bowlers/strategists.

You know how much I like/support KLR, but ever since he started chanting (and implementing) his 'SR is overrated' mantra I find it difficult to back him. No place for such naive/selfish/stupid mindset in this format, especially with the batting riches we have...had he been from a mid/low tier team like Pakistan/Lanka/RSA different matter. If he can play like the KLR of old, he walks in as the best candidate to partner skipper Rohit.

Now this is a good post.  Icf needs more of this and less from the brain trust.

The way I see it, Rohit, Bumrah and Hardik will be in the final Indian 11 irrespective of any other players unless injuries force them not to play. These 3 players are more or less will be permanent fixtures in the T20 line up. No one can convince me otherwise.

I always used to bat for Rishabh Pant to open the batting along wth KL Rahul in LOI's (and I still do) that. One could see why Kishan was made to open yesterday. A heavy hitting left hander(which is a bonus) who can bash both spinners and fast ballers are the need of the hour in Indian opening positions and Ishan just did that. The kid hitting rashid for 4s and 6s was a delight to watch. I'm just glad that he grabbed the opportunity and stole the spotlight with the captain at the other end. I just don't see Dhawan getting any more games after this.

I had a feeling that Rishabh Pant wanted to hit more after seeing Ishan bat. Pant wanted to match shot for shot and just wanted to show the crowd that even after ishan had gone he's still there and he can do the same, if not better

SKY yadav will do well in the middle order. I'm sure of it.  He just needs chances. But unfortunately, he is breathing down Iyer's neck and eyeing his position in the middle order. There will be a clash for that position at #5.

Other than Ishan, i was really glad to see Pandya do well with the ball. His figures don't show it fully but i could sense more game awareness and making the batsmen check their shots more often than not. Guys like Pandya offer the balance that every team captain wants badly.

Kohli and Rohit will have to find ways to adjust KL, Ishan, Pant, pandya and sky in the team. No other ways about it. I know KL Rahul is not amidst the runs now but I want to give him chances as long as dhawan is out of the team.

Ashwin's test form has been nothing sort of amazing and I think he deserves a call up for the WC. But for that the TM needs to pick him up in the run ups. The ball is in their court now.

Made the point on Pandya's bowling on the 2nd T20. His batting will come around for sure but his bowling is much improved now.

SKY Yadav, 50 :clap2:

Rahul Chahar 2 wickets for 34 on debut

Hardik Pandya, excellent bowling. 2/16

Only rogith was dhatthi but he'll come around.

@Mariyam

I give him a lot of stick but today Iyer was no less than SKY, gave impetus when it looked like we were heading towards a 160ish score. Impact-wise one of his best outings in India jersey.

That was what is expected out of Pant, I think Iyer even took Morgan by surprise.
