Cricketers from countries which have produced good fast bowlers historically ( and have been top Teams as s result of this )  have this passion for fast bowling and fast bowlers. They see extra pace and bounce and they get excited. Steyn and Bishop are very good examples.

Good fast bowling is a means to achieve the end of winning ... but it is a very exciting means. One can win a match by a walkover or DL Method in a rained out match ... but actually thumping a top opposition in a match is the most exciting way of winning. Using fast bowling to win is a similar thing. It gives a rare adrenaline rush !   It's super thrilling  !

I remember how excited Warne was when Bumrah was bowling that amazing, skilful and fast spell at the Oval. He kept on saying that he is executing such amazing skills with almost every ball at around 90 mph. He could not hold back his excitement.

While most top batters' discussions about their past seem to revolve around how they tackled a genuine fast bowler or could not  ... and the associated fear and discomfort. This is the aspect that seems to affect them psychologically

Fast bowling lovers forget the country of origin of the bowler and just live the excitement of display of raw speed and power with skills.

I was so overjoyed when I found a few genuine fast bowling lovers on this forum. Co-Indians who got as much thrilled by quick bowling as I always got. @Mosher, @Suhaan, @rkt.india, @vishalvirsingh, @Vilander, @Rightarmfast, @MultiB48, @Malcolm Merlyn , @tweakerand a few others are the relative old timers who had and have this passion for fast bowling.  Then came you @Lone Wolf, @Vijy, @rollingstoned, @sarchasm, @prudent_kreeda,@raki05@Jay@singhvivek141

Now we have a pool of developed quick bowlers bowling 145 k+ or 140 k+ and winning us big test series away from home and tearaway quicks bowling 150 k+ or 145 k+.  The first part of our journey to develop us as a fast bowling nation is near completion ... building up from the despairing days of short medium pacers floating the ball up gently.  Now starts the most interesting part. And the IPL has played a big part in this journey too.

Let's enjoy the ride together now !  Let the passion for fast bowling grow and expand !

It's so good that super passionate fast bowlers like Steyn and Jones are taking part in the development of our young quicks.

Cheers bro !

Thank you for the mention sir.

--> It is probably a cliche but still bears mentioning that watching a fast bowler run in full steam and bowling express pace is the best sight in the game. Soothes the senses. Even pretty looking fluent batting and great wrist spin are a distant second for me. Fast bowlers will always be the alphas for this reason.

--> I mentioned earlier that our stable of good to very good to even potentially great bowlers with promise is full to bursting at the minute. It is probably unprecedented in our history where we have always been seen as a factory that churns out maestro batsmen and accurate spinners. Tide serms to have truly turned now where we do have a couple of far and away world class batting prospects but nowhere near the same depth in talent that we have with the ball. I feel the kind of pitches have encouraged it as when there were a surfeit of green pitches a decade ago we had a lot of conventional swing bowlers who bowled under and around 130. Our domestic system has always produced swing bowlers who kiss the pitch to use any early morning moisture barring a few exceptions. Pitches that force both batsmen and bowlers to work hard for their runs/wickets and keep everyone interested is the ideal to aspire for. These quick tall hit the deck bowlers are a result of that.

I always rated Bishop as the best commentator around, up there with Hussain and Atherton. A very astute analyst of the game who doesn't utter pointless inanities.

That is Gaurav Yadav.

Mayank Yadav is probably 19  and plays for Delhi.  LSG picked him this time.

Yesss. Gaurav. He looked quickly right? Couldn't see speed guns but he looked rapid. Had no idea that mayank was quick too.

I have seen enough spin pitches in india to last my lifetime. And in any case most Indian pitches will always be slow and low, question is can we quicken up a few .

Pitches in Mumbai, Kolkata, Dharamsala and Lahli are the quickest and bounciest we have. Pune and Ahmedabad are there too.

Atherton is very very objective and a sound analyst. He is class.

Hit the nail on the head.

Our current international pool of Bumrah, Shami, Siraj and Umesh have pace and skills but lack height.

This is where we need to improve and the next lot of Prasidh, Sen, Tyagi, Khaleel are giving us this pace with height while Umran is providing express pace.

I hope we are able to introduce these 5 pacers ASAP ... Prasidh is ready for the 2 longer formats .. Khaleel for white ball cricket  .. and the other 3 need more development.

Having 1 pacer - maybe even 2 if they are really good - who is shorter but has x factor is okay. Eg Ryan Harris, Dale Steyn.

All the guys you mentioned whom we currently have are capable of taking the pitch out of the equation.

Even Sandeep Sharma, Bhuvi type bowlers have their uses inspite of them not being all conditions bowlers. :phehe:

Absolutely  !

Combinig tall bouncy quick pacers with medium or shorter height skiddy quick pacers is the key.

More bouncy pacers in tests outside Asia and white ball cricket ... and more skiddy pacers in tests in Asia.

Medium or short height .... Bumrah, Umran, Shami, Siraj

Tall  .... Prasidh, Sen, Tyagi, Khaleel, Avesh

Now mix and match as per conditions and format and rotation policy.

I was talking about the tall pacers primarily as that is what we lack. Otherwise Bumrah and Umran will be great assets for the future too.

He is bowling at an average speed of 147k (146.7l).

 Kuldeep Sen's fastest was 147k.

Khaleel "s bowled till 146 n avesh till 146 k.

Boom touched 147k.

This guy is way faster than all other Indian fast bowlers.  He has bowled few balls faster than 153k.

He is beating lockie Ferguson and other foreign fast  pack. BCCI selection committee.. please pick umran Malik into indian test team and odi (50 over) team.

If they don't ...it's cheating

Khaleel ... Fastest  143.6 kph till his 3rd over

He is fast, accurate , perfect control over his line n length.

He is ready to represent India in all 3 formats.

He is better than Nattu though nattu is equally good in T20.

But for tests and odi khaleel is better than Nattu

Khaleel is good in white ball cricket but his FC record is not good enough yet.

I am all in favour if trying him for T20s but not in red ball cricket yet.

this IPL has refreshed the teams lots of young coaching staff and new team mixes old guard struggling, good signs for IPL

yes thats why i really like this side

sundar will gain so much from murali n lara in batting

Lara will never ask anyone to curb their natural game, same with steyn wont ask them to cut their pace down

Moody also seems to showing patience with umran by understand that pace can also have the other side but needs patience

Wud be great for umran n tyagi to bowl in nets to williamson n markram whose are very good players of pace
