After the WTC debacle, Im more looking forward to some white ball cricket. Probably start following tests again when NZ come to India and Kohli and Shastri blow up all the pitches so we can play, Ash, Jaddu, Axar and Sundar in the same team.

In FC, KL has played as an opener or #3. You can't invent a MO out of him. Rohit 'I will play like this only no matter what' needs a relook now that he is 34 or somethine. Giving him 6 tests in Eng will deny a chance for Mayank/Rahul to prove their worth in SENA. Gill at least gets a dekho for 3 tests. as apparently he is special.

Agree with all, but since the question is just for the 1st test, I would rotate Bumrah out and take Avesh or Prasidh.  Let Bumrah recover health/form and rotate in for test 3 in place of Shami.  We have so much fast bowling wealth - rotation is a must.
