Why is Vikram not a superstar in Tamil cinema? I thought he and Surya (Ghajini wallah) would take the place of Kamal/Rajini in superstar category. Ajith and Vijay just not in that class, especially the latter.

One of the hardest working actor Vikram. But also he earned the tag of unlucky actor. Anytime he acted movie tanked.  Sedhu changed his life upside down. Outstanding acting. Later he did variety of roles. Handicapped, mentally underdeveloped. He even lent voice to many useless actors. He has excellent screen presence.  He gave a few box office hits. But most recently his own selection of movies let him down.  He needs a director like Bala to re-emerge.  Should have reached the stage of these guys. You need one solid director to get the best out of you.  Bala is his guy just like Vetrimaaran is for Dhanush.  Rajinikanth's 90s hits were all from Suresh Krishna. Annamalai, Baasha, veera.

Surya's brother Karthi is good as well in raw roles.  Especially intensity in fight scenes he is very good.

I was a moderator on an officialish SRK fan club website a decade+ ago. There was *nothing* toxic the group ever discussed. Mainly discussions were on acting/actor comparisons and usual fan girling about favourite scenes/dialogues.

And there were people from Singapore, Iran, Germany and other placeswho weren't from the Indian diaspora and would partake. I take serious umbrage to grouping us with random fans who are looking for fights/controversy online. This was a very constructive community. Mainly women/girls. It withered away after Twitter became big.

Check the top two trends on twitter now. Har roz ki kahani....Salman/SRK/Aamir/Akshay (occasionally Devgan, Hrithik, Sanjay Dutt) fans do this every day, pick a target, run a provocative hashtag and full on abuse.

You could have India playing a WC final and in a dominant position, still SM will be hijacked by these retarded thugs.

Vijaykanth and Vijay are the worst actors I have seen, no talent, zero ability/screen presence, clueless clowns and highly annoying. At least Ajith is good in 1-2 roles and actually talented in bike racing.

Top two trends rn are on the cabinet shuffle and for SSR.

But in the top 10 I see the abusive trends you mention. Shameful stuff.

But why are those who scream abuse the loudest from the pulpits on SM always considered undisputed representatives of the group?

Better acting than any of his movies.

Vijaykanth is a very good actor. Should see in movies from the 80s and 90s.

I watched thala in vivegam. he was a jason bourne style agent, arms dealer, loverboy, cook, bunjee jumper, dodges bullets, sharpshooting sniper who makes his enemies tremble, takes bullet out of his arms, recovers quickly while still bench pressing with damaged arms while shouting like an animal  vivek oberoi had no chance of stopping him. what a talented actor :adore: Then I saw vijay in mersal :adore: I say hats off to them and their fans :hatsoff:and stopped watching movies after that

Watch Nerkonda Parvai. Ajith . Also some of his older films. He's a much better actor than Vijay.

I have only seen Ajit in 2.5 movies- Vaali (very good movie and acting), Asoka (where he did a guest appearance) and that scene where he changes emotions.

Vijay I have not seen a single movie of his. I know he is a fine dancer because most of his movies are remakes of Telugu commercial

movies or Vice versa where his movies get remade for big stars in Telugu. So I have seen his song videos mostly that’s about it. From what little I have seen, an average actor. Whose son is he?

After Rajni and Kamal, the 2 Tamil guys whose movies I have seen are Vikram and Suriya. They are decent  looking, fantastic actors and make good movies. Why don’t they get more hype? I think that’s the problem with all film industries.

Karthi I saw him in a movie with Nagarjuna where Nagarjuna played the paraplegic. Forgot the movie name. Decent actor.

Ajith was also very good in Yennai Arindhal and Aasai. He is actually a decent actor. But he has become a mass actor now - much like Rajni discards his acting chops for silly masala movies. They make him money though - so I guess at the end that's what matters.

After Vaarnam Ayiram - Suriya lost it. He also tried to make masala movies and lost his decision making.

His last decentish movie was Singham 3. His best will always be Kaakha Kaakha. His movies in the noughties were very good. Pithamagan etc. Same with Vikram - although he was better in masala movies. They suited him. Still love to watch Dhill, Saamy etc.
