Yo yo is replaced by 2 minutes test. Cricket hockey comparison is idiotic. Running is the thing you do nost of the time in hockey during practice. Cricketers have to do much more. Running is just one of those things.

Not really. You need much more stamina in cricket for test cricket. hockey yo yo test scores are high because they are running all the time. They develop good cardio naturally during the game itself. Cricketing stamina is different when you at times have to field for two days in heat in Indian conditions.

Yes, tennis needs great fitness. Regarding cricket, you are not just batting. It's the fielding that requires stamina especially in Indian conditions or Australian heat. In the past, we used to surrender when we had to field 100 plus overs overseas because they lacked fitness, especially, fast bowlers. Not the case anymore.

All sports are mentally draining. Some has to focus for 15 minutes, some one odd hour and some for hours.

Don't get why you keep quoting me. I didn't bring cricket in this thread.

India have 5 medals thus far from 5 sports....

Hope Punia can change that and bring home another in the wrestling.

Would be so odd if Aditi Ashok and Chopra get medals and Punia misses out from this point. 7 medals in 7 different sports...

Girls were too passive in qtr 1 and 2. Gbr built a 2 goal cushion then.

That said hockey with the current pc rules is broken. Lost interest after repeated pcs being awarded for accidental touches of them foot.

a question. if say play starts over the next two days but is unable to be completed.

so instead of the extra 18 rounds, 10 are played - will those 10 count (for a 64 round thing) or will it be discarded and day 3 positions be considered.

if the latter, good chances i guess for aditi.

also if it rains - do they drain the ground etc? that will take out time too.

If all the 18 holes are not completed of round 4 on saturday and sunday(reserve day), the medals will be given as per the rankings at the end of round 3.

i had this discussion with my dad too, the pc rule in hockey would be a lot more problematic than any handball rule in football. they need to have a cap on the number of consecutive pc's you can get before you turn over possession. Giving teams 6 pc's in a row for eg only means they will get it right eventually while you can't not use your leg in most scenarios while defending. I can see why the rule came in but it's **** as of now.

Three solid rounds from Aditi, I think the last round scores will be high so even if she stays par, she should finish in Top 3 .

Any chance she can topple the American?

Yes.. but unlikely unless she has a superb round and the American lady doesn't.

Aditi has been the most consistent across the board.. She had a -4 on day 1, -5 on day 2 and -3 on day 3. The others have been up and down. The American had a -9 yesterday which is why she has such a huge lead. That said the 3rd placed folks and beyond are not too far back either.

In the 20km walk women's Indian lady (Priyanka) is in the leader group... 1sec behind... Other lady (Bhawna Jat) 5 secs behind.

Early days yet - but hope she keeps pace.
