They pick kids from the age of 6 ... test them on physical characteristics for Olympic events and send them to special schools to prepare for these events. Apparently there are 400k kids in special schools for sports and 51k+ elite athletes picked from these students for world events. They invest 2-3 B dollars on just sports every year. Data from an Economist documentary on Chinese sports athlete factories. They can afford to do this.

All the commie countries invest very heavily in sports.

Everyone is sent to school without fail for brainwashing. No kid can escape the net. That said Cuba has one of the highest literacy rates in the world and one of the best system of medicine. 

 

Doing well at the Olympics is a symbol of strength. Even North Korea - where starvation is the norm for the common man usually does really well in sports. All the -stans do really well for this as well. The USSR invested huge in sports to beat the Americans and the west as a symbol of pride. Become a culture now.

brazil is a rich country. not first world but way ahead of india.

 

their hdi and gdp per capita (ppp) is close to china.

it was an ok olympics with diversity of medals in different sports. but in paris I expect atleast one gold and several other medals. lets hope 2024 India will win gold

Aditi is not confirmed for a top 3 finish. The final round is uncertain, could go any way, especially weather. Chopra has tough competition from Germans, and that Pakistani as well. 

So nothing is confirmed.

Archery World Cup team is selected and so glad to see none of the oldies made it.

 

Average age of the new team is just 20 and these kids beat our Olympians in trials to shut them out.

 

End of the road foe Deepika, Atanu, Tarundeep.

 

Jadhav is also not selected but he is young and can make a comeback.

Yes, Jadhav is young ...just 23 year old but he couldn't beat the new kids in trails. Tell a lot about mental strength.
