Zaheer I can understand for the left arm option. Both Bumrah and Shami should be ahead of Srinath. Srinath was an underachiever Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
If we go by batting positions, VVS Laxman should be in this team ahead of Kohli. Kohli loses out to Sachin for the number 4 position. Gavaskar, Viru, Dravid, Sachin, VVS, Pant (wk), Kapil Paaji (c), Ashwin, Kumble, Zaheer, Bumrah Jadeja the 12th man. Link to comment

Zaheer was fantastic in the later half of his career, the most skilful test bowler we have produced. Was not just a couple of performances but he did well for 5-6 years in some of the worst bowling conditions. That 2005/6-2011/12 was perhaps the worst time to be a bowler with so many ultra flat decks everywhere. Edited July 20, 2021 by ShoonyaSifar sarchasm and Majestic 1 1 Link to comment

And not a single quality pacer How many pace bowlers you produced after bottle cap ban? Not a single pace bowler who took 200 wickets post that, while we produced some And yes pace bowlers averaging in low and mid 20s are not quality at all, every single one from shami, bumarah even bhuvi average 27 or below, and achieved more in tests than Imran or Waqar with series wins in Australia, test no 1 ranking etc Norman, raki05, QuarantineTormentino and 2 others 2 3 Link to comment

New guy
Just now, sarchasm said: Just so we are clear, the ''very good'' second half here means an average of 31, less than Srinath's career average. On the flat pitches he mostly bowled on and without support, that average isn't bad at all. I have a feeling bumrah will end his career beyond that average Link to comment
QuarantineTormentino
Don’t worry guys Bumrah will be back, and finish his career with an average <= 25. Too early to include him in ATG XI just yet, Zaheer has the right to be in there for now Edited July 20, 2021 by QuarantineTormentino Link to comment
