Govt isn't saying that no one died due to shortage of oxygen. Govt is saying that no state reported death due shortage of oxygen. Quote "No deaths due to lack of oxygen have been specifically reported by states/UTs," the junior health minister told the Upper House. Is it relevant who controls majority of states when all parties and govt at both levels failed collectively?

There is way to say that like " it was terrible situation ,several media houses reported deaths due to shortage of oxygen , so far we don't have data on it , we have asked states to collect it" rising 1

States report data on deaths in which doctors issue medical certificate that patient died due to covid. For lack of oxygen doctors call it aphyxia. No where you will get death certificate which say that death occur due to lack of infrastructure. Special probe is needed to asses deaths which died due to.lack of oxygen

Similar people who died due lack of oxygen are also people who had Covid19 or other illness but they couldn't saved as they didn't got proper care (that includes Oxygen) and its very hard to count as person who didn't get Oxygen probably never got into hospital . How will they determine would person have survived if he had Oxygen its impossible do that when you medical facility is overwhelmed . Govt has already asked states to collect data and that's what they are reporting daily. Also tried to get full statement of what minister said, but couldn't find details. Not defending the govt, but trying to understand what's the expectation here. Surely govt can't say something like 100s if not thousands died due to lack of oxygen. Statements are official and that will require a number.
