I think from what I remember they did want to get that 1000 record but they were actually criticized by media from what I remember. I mean india could have got a score like that too if they wanted. I guess first it was chasing highest partnership record then it was Jaya trying for Lara’s record, karte karte they made a mockery of test crickets.
