He is yet to score a 100 outside India, Lets see when it comes

He has been a beast at home but outside its been mostly 30-50s and 60-70 on rare few occasions. Looks to have improved overseas but not getting that big one , does all the hard work but then throws it away.

He is compulsive puller that's gonna be big issue for him. He looks like has worked upon his defense recently but if he keeps pulling short balls then there is very low chance of him getting big score overseas. His 30s and 40s are good but for him to leave that mark in test cricket he needs some big scores overseas and time is running out for him.

Did he play the series in NZ? Since he turned test opener, he has played one game in Australia and 2 in England. Technically, he has adapted very well and done way better than what he was expected to do, which is poke one outside off and get out in the single digits. I think he will get a hundred in this series as he has gotten past the adjustment phase successfully.

Rohit has improved hugely, initially the conversation on ICF was that he is a walking wicket in overseas.

There are bigger worries with the 3, 4 and 5.

I see Rohit improving further.

Not all about hundreds, an average of 30 as an opener in SENA is not bad compared with what we have seen before.

The chance less 35’s in some of the conditions is no less than a 150 at times.

Batting in middle order or facing tired bowlers with the 2nd new ball is not the same as facing fit and firing bowlers with a new ball on the greenish pitch.

35 is as good as a 100 in these low scoring pitches. Whatever happened to fit for roles sumo wrestlers being fit for role of hitting a couple of 6’s once every 10 games :hmmm:

wasnt his six hitting ability in every game ur counter once when for his test cricket as well

Even Jaffer did more as an overseas opener.Big reason of our 2007 win in England

Jaffers masterclass dare I say best century opening in trying conditions in last 2 decades for India against monster attack and trying conditions  was in newlands 2006/7.. sadly india lost that match.. day one was a green mamba

If Rohit finishes this series with an average of 40 and follows this up with a productive series in South Africa later this year, he'd comfortably retire as our best opener after Sunny and Viru.

Murali Vijay???
