What prevents T20 cricket and Kabbadi from being a part of the Olympics

So many shyte seemingly un Olympic "sports" are a part of Olympics yet Kabaddi - played by 30-40 countries and cricket played by over 100 countries is not included in the games.

 

If Ganguly as ICC president has any substance in him ( and part of the job of the ICC President is to popularize the game and raise its profile ) - we should be pushing T20 cricket to be part of Olympics. 

 

Kabaddi too is a far more physical sport than lot of cr@p that passes off in the Olympic events.

I think there might be problems with WADA  with regards  to Indian  cricket where players did not want share details about whereabouts. i think this happened something 10 to 12 years ago which might problem for cricket

 etc are important popular sports unlike cricket or Kabbadi shhhhhh.

Cricket should not be in Olympics. Will take the limelight away from other sports in India. We wouldn't want that. Other sportsmen have one international level event and that too you want to get hijacked by Cricket.

I think cricket should be included if the host venue has necessary infrastructure for it. 

Kabaddi has more stronger case than it though.  Still no idea why isn't that in Olympics.   Iran probably will take Gold there though.

I know they are good but did they ever beat India in Asian games? Dude be more positive lol. The only issue is Pak might get bronze or silver.

They are current Asian champs.  Their raiding game has improved massively thanks to Kabaddi league.  Defence was always their stronger suit. 

They will be favorites against India anywhere anytime as of now.

Iran can give good competition but India will beat Iran 19 out of 20 times

Believe me I follow Kabaddi close enough.  Iran in recent years got closer & closer & ultimately bridged the Gap in Asian Games & defeated us in the Semis. 

Majority of their success is now thanks to the Kabaddi league.  They have learned the art of raiding from Indian raiders.

I am guessing time constraints for Cricket.. Even a t20 match takes 3.5 hrs minimum.. To have that many matches in a contracted schedule is quite difficult. 

 

Kabbadi probably because it isn't 'western' enough

The opposition to a push for cricket to return to the Olympic fold for the first time since 1900 is being led by the BCCI and the ECB. India refused to send either their men's or women's teams to the last Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2010 and Singh hopes they will change their stance for the upcoming Asian Games in the Korean city of Incheon in September.
