He has good record against india in home conditions. Good pick by england. Woakes still not fit to play test cricket. Haseeb Hameed likely to open in lords test.

That's a solid team tbh. Good depth. Balance. No great batsman though apart from rooty. 

 

In saying that they will have 5 brokers. Depth in batting. 

 

It's a problem for india due to poor MO however I believe india also have a balanced side. If we had sundar, Gill and mayank I would say india are huge favourites. Now it's probably England if England win toss or vice versa.

When we won in Australia Rahane made a match defining score in Melbourne. Pujara made three crucial half centuries in the deciding tests. Gill and Pant were excellent. Kohli made runs in his only test. Sundar and Thakur made half centuries in their only test.  Jadeja made important runs in Melbourne. Vihari made no runs but played a vital knock in Sydney along with Ashwin. Even Rohit made at least made a 50 and a 40 in his two tests. Thats kind of thing which we need in this remaining 4 tests from Batsmen. Not everyone will be successful everyday but if some people are successful at some crunch times we will be winning the series..

Where is Anderson? Without him, their bowling is 50%.

Moeen ali picks up wickets against us cause we look to score against him based on the pressure built up by the seamers. Likes of Jadeja and Pant need to play the % against him

 

From England's calculations i feel they think anderson can bowl long spells to build pressure by choking runs so moeen etc can pick up wickets.

 

Regardless, Anderson is the key. You need to be positive against him.  If he goes for 3 rpo the lack if depth in English bowling will come through
