Will the BCCI panel go back to Kumble and sack Kohli from captaincy (if he doesn't step down on his own)?

Potential options are

Dravid

Ponting (Dada worked with him at DC, may have a good working relationship)

Mike Hesson

Andy Flower

Vettori

Batting Coach - Amre, Majumdar, Abhishek Nayyar,

Bowling coach - Donald, Gillespie, Bond, Steyn

Fielding coach - Jonty, Kaifpl

Please add to this list.

Could there be a surprise package like a Steve Waugh or Kallis?

Useless he may be, but Shastri isn't the problem holding Indian cricket back.

And respect to Shastri if this is actually true & he steps down after T20 WC.

Ditto

At this level these players don't need coaching. Man-management is what matters, keeping them motivated and organizing the playing order/selection. Ravi shastri in Kohli's absence has a great track record. We have statistically done very well.

If hes so good ,he should be able to do well despite Kohli being there.

Most of the time hes gonna be captain,so if we need a yesman, theres plenty of options

Also we are under selling Rahane's role in Aus.

Hows he suppose to do well with kohli still being there ?? At the end its captain who plays his team on field. Once players are on field coach cant do much.

Kohli has had coaches like hesson, kirsten with him in RCB all ending up with same results . Give him late woolmer, ponting, jayawardne , moody and end result wud be same.

Head Coach: Rahul Dravid

Batting Coach: Praveen Amre

Bowling Coach: Zaheer Khan

Fielding Coach: Mohammad Kaif

This is an outstanding bunch that should be hired but Kohli should be removed from captaincy first. Or else he won’t achieve results with these guys as well

Make no Mistake,  both Ricky Ponting and Kohli are similar personalities.

Both equally arrogant, similar batsman and tactically inept.

Its just that one inherited the GOAT team other didn't.

Ricky ponting was not a choker in ICC KO tournaments. Yes, he inherited a GOAT team but he himself performed when it mattered the most.  His inning against us in 2003 WC final was a captain's knock.    Chokli would hv choked in similar situations.

A few days before Shastri made his announcement, there were reports of the BCCI ending his contract after the T20 WC. He was probably given the option to announce his exit himself to make the optics better. Why would he let go of the highest paid cricket coach job unless there was no other option?

Allowing Ravi a graceful exit is the right  way . He does not deserve unceremonious exit.

Ideally looks like a perfect set.

But for some reason, can't think of anyone who could fill Dravid's shoes at NCA. Maybe Andy Flower or Fleming if he is looking for a new role after such a long stint with CSK.

How does living in Australia give you a special insight into Ponting

You do realise in Australia we have been exposed to Ponting and his character in far great media coverage than you will ever have experienced.

Let me guess he belongs to your IPL team, which means sweet f**k all.

Agree before any changes are made, Kohli must go.

No coach will be able to exert their influence and flavour on Team India, if Kohli is still there. He is the cancer of the Indian team.

If captain is what matters most(rightly),how are we crediting him for Aus win and not Rahane. He was the differentiating factor.

Any decent coach, especially foreign wouldnt have Kohli make all the decisions and just be yesman. They would have resigned or kept Kohli honest. Its not like Shastri doesn't have connections in Indian cricket.

But he's happy to collect a paycheck while Kohli runs the show.
