Realistically Team India won’t drop him for the last match of the series. I’m hoping he loses his place in the next test series and a young player comes in. Won’t mind Shaw getting included in the lineup.

Yes. Will be difficult for a youngster to come in and do well right away. Will only make it easy fot Kohli to drop him and bring Rahane back in the next series.

he is bewda's fav boy(toy) after all (after rat). and there was an article in cricinfo involving rathore, who pretty much said that rahane won't be dropped soon. I think their idea is to lower rahane's avg below that of shastri.

This strategy of skipping domestic games was followed by Rayudu also,if he plays domestic cricket and performs poorly compared to his state team mates that would draw more scrutiny to his position in the Indian team, this way you get to spend the year tension free..show up for a few months,grab the BCCI cheque and relax.
