Should England not just play Root at 3, Pope at 4, Bairstow at 5, possibly Woakes at 6.  

Best chance of winning and assuming they aren't overly aggressive and lose wickets going for quick runs, can play for a draw.

Malan is quite good, and is supposed to be fairly adept against spin (not that I have seen it myself). Pope at 4 is one position too high. I think they will keep the same 3-6 (Malan, Root, Pope, Bairstow) and bump Woakes to 7

The chances of india losing is nil. I dont think theyll score more than 75 with Jadeja bowling 10 overs by lunch. That will leave them With 230 odd In 2 sessions and new ball coming up in over no 48. As soon One wicket or two wicket falls every ball will become an event with jadeja bowling in rough and for right handers to hit him Out of the rough to score runs is fraught with danger as they need to step out. Left handers will try to sweep him but kohli has already blocked deep sq leg and fine leg. Basically jadeja has to bowl close to 35 overs at rr of 2/2.1. Ie 80 of him. Remaining 50 overs it’s difficult to get 210 runs. India will slow things down n we wont have more than 85 overs. Even today with sun shining and 18mins extra time we had 88 overs. Oh another thing as per latest weather forecast it ll be no rain but cloudy till 2 o clock which is a plus..

The minimum number of overs to be completed, unless an innings ends or an interruption occurs shall be: 

1. on days other than the last day - a minimum of 90 overs (or a minimum of 15 overs per hour)
2. on the last day - a minimum of 75 overs (or 15 overs per hour) for playing time other than the last hour 

 

on last day the mandatory overs starts at 5 pm ie 1 hr before schedule close of play. So if india bowls 70 overs till 5 pm they ll have to bowl 15 overs. If they bowl 80 overs till 5 pm they ll have to bowl 10 more overs. It all depends on how many overs they bowl till 5 pm when mandatory over or last hr of play starts.

Root should bat where he has scored all his runs this series. Malan can play at a high tempo, natural white ball batsman, and no Ashwin to torture him.

Draw still the overwhelming favorite. Eng bat deep and we have wrong (and tired/unfit) bowling attack for this test.

Im pretty sure they cant tell the captain to bowl only the spinners.

Even if India win, it would be in spite of Kohli's idiotic captaincy and team selection.

Even if he knows it deep down, there's no way he will admit it. instead, he will find some stupid way of trying to deflect blame and the media will all fall over themselves justifying what he says.

Ive been following SKY SPORTS UK, they have hammered Kohli for not picking Ashwin every chance they have got.

Scoring close to 300 or picking up 10 wkts on the last day (unless conditions are bowling friendly) is tough. For either of the two to happen requires exceptional or dumb (from the losing team) cricket. 

However teams like Eng thrive on challenges and have experience of playing high tempo cricket in LOIs so I would not be surprised if Eng pulls it off. Malan-Bairstow-Ali may need to bring their A game.
