G_B_ Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 People need to calm down. Take this year as an outlier. Buttler for eg has a newborn.

There are litetally 10 other English players participating including the captain Morgan. Its clear these are test players who may have to spend time in an intensive bio bubble environment in Australia for the ashes. They are choosing to spend 3 weeks with their families. raki05 1

After confirming their availability to the franchises just a couple of weeks back? That's totally unprofessional behaviour. Not the first time this has happened. Best for IPL teams to stay away from poms

The situation with regards to the ashes (and immediate families being allowed) is fluid and continues to be so.

This is sheer dishonesty and unprofessional behaviour. We have seen this with Lankan players earlier which resulted in teams largely ignoring them. With Buttler, Stokes (his personal situation notwithstanding) and now these three not available, English players will see similar cold response from the franchises. Maybe they were waiting for the series to end before announcing their decision and waiting for the ashes picture to be clear. Sri Lanka is a small economy. Sky sports is actually the highest bidder for the IPL outside India. Only time will tell if they are dropped or sidelined. Sri Lankan players not being picked is more to do with them being poor. Most IPL franchises want foreign pace bowling allrounders and power hitters. Mathews is now past it. So nobody left.

What if smith and Cummins withdraw, ban Aussies too? Why do people have such thin skin here
Serpico Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Dawid Malan only drags pk down. Markram is a big upgrade. Did anyone pick Janneman malan? Lord 1
jf1gp_1 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Buttlers reason is understandable, Woakes is returning from injury so who knows, Bairstow pulling out is on expected line. Only surprise is Malan.
