He is a trash captain regardless. He is a bitch for running away. People have had it worse and still stayed back to represent india.

Anyway it worked out well as we would have very likely got thrashed in that series had the rat stayed back.

Doesn't matter.

The only thing that matters is that you were spreading lies. Ab tumne maan liya ki galat ho tum. Its settled now

Ok you win. But you dint answer one question. Why even play the 1st test? Makes no sense whatsoever. Why?

Why not just take the break earlier?

He wanted to play the first test just to ensure his position as captain of the team. Dropping rohit randomly was weird too as there were talks about rhohit taking over as captain. He was vulnerable.

As long as kohli remains a cash cow, bcci won't make him step down. The moment he loses his lustre, he will be left for dead. Enjoy while it lasts.

Because he had the time to play one test and so he did, why should your best batsman not play a test when he is available. He was the highest run scorer too.

Rohit was never going to take over as Test captain, he himself was unproven outside Aus, this accusation is ridiculous. Also he didn't drop Rohit TM did.

I want him to remain only our test captain, he was never good in lois, I don't care if he remains a cash cow or not, I don't think I got to care about Kohli's income he has earned way more than he can spend.

Wait, it ll come aur bahut zordaar aayegi

Never ever...ever ever underestimate a sanki

Itna ki sanki hai to ek IPL jeet leta itne saalon mein..wo bhi isse na hua. I'd still agree that he still had the 'sanak' till around 2018. Has been all downhill since then.

How easily will he accept his status as another normal player who will not have the camera focussed on him any longer? To me it looks next to impossible.

individual sanak doesnt give u nerves as captain, nthing to do with each other

So players hasnt had downfall, yrs of captaincy takes toll on every one

Sanak kabhi jaati nhin

Nearly everything I have said about Kohli - from his downfall as a captain and as a batsman, as a human being, about his toxic PR -  since 2019 on this site has turned out to be directionally correct. While I will be happy to be proven wrong on his revival as a batsman, I see very minimal chances of that happening. Let's see.

Needs a break from cricket, probably after t20 WC, Ben Stokes ke jaisa mental break lena chahiye but the fact is Indian fans abused him for leaving the team for his newborn child, all hell will break loose if he takes a break for mental health.

Second peak to aaegi hi, no doubts about it, anyone having an iota of cricket acumen knows that.

aaegi peak but he has to leave captaincy for that even in ODI

Him and Rohit are still put our top2 ODI bats. They aren't going anywhere until 2023. In fact, I won't be surprised if our top3 is Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli at the next Odi WC. Only chance is if thigh slapper loses form drastically to get replaced by one of Shaw/Gill/Gailwad/Padikkal.

His best times to win anything was 2014-2018. When he walked in , he scored. Had he tried then and shown the same passion and backed right players. he may have won few things. Now its wAy too late. He can not go beyond 2022.

Allready sports editors of India are hinting its time up for him and BCCI needs new face.

Don't expect any major change till 2023 World Cup.

In 2023 WC, our team will be :-

Openers - Rohit, Dhawan and backup opener will be one of Shaw or Gill

Middle order - Kohli, KL, Pant and backup will be Shreyas

All-rounder- Hardik, Jadeja, Shardul

Fast bowlers/Spinners- Bumrah, Shami, Siraj and Chahal

Basically, the core will be same and there can be one or two changes but overall 11-12 names are pretty clear at this point itself.

Ideally we should have just one out of Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli playing in the 2023 WC and the best candidate till now would be Rohit as he may be the captain.

On batsmen now bowling, this specialist role theory in Indian cricket has gone too far. Look at it - none of the upcoming young batsmen bowl either - Shreyas, Shaw, Gill, Ruturaj, Paddikal, Jaiswal - all specialist batsmen.

Venkatesh Iyer, though not young, gives some hope if he can continue bowling. Others who can bowl like Samad and Abhishek are some way away from international selection. Others like Rana, Tewatiya, Dube are not exactly young.

Jaiswal bowls decent leg spin.

People writing off Kohli the batsman already are dimwits of the highest order.

He is dead and gone. Dead and gone. His career is finished.

Happy to be proven wrong. Perhaps after losing captaincy he might improve slightly. He is done in t20. In odi he may be ok. .

In tests he cant play spin or swing.
