That's pretty racist to say tbh. What a dumbass. As much as I can't stand chahal, you just don't degrade someone like that. You say that to the wrong person and you may truly regret it.

While true, do you think someone should be arrested for that?

It's like calling a black guy a n word. Same thing here.

If you say it aloud in public, you may get trampled on.

The difference being that Chahal isn't actually a "bhangi".

So that's like calling an asian guy a ni***.

Whatever. Doesn't matter. It's the intention that counts.

What if that Asian happened to be a dark skinned guy?

Some of my mates they call this Philipino dude an Asian abo. Meaning Asian aboriginal.

If I was aboriginal or a dark skinned guy, I would put him on a wheelchair for being racist towards me. Everyone is different. Got to be careful with who you mess with.

It's a term used for dalit cast. Refer them as sweepers etc.

This is Svachch Bharat. Bad language will not be tolerated. From now onward use of the suffix “ji”will be mandatory.  For example, BC?- jail time. BCji? - okay. I am so happy that our police is on top of this. Just because they can’t catch the guy that robs your house doesn’t mean they are useless. They can still go to Yuvraj’s house..

Its the law and has been for decades. Use any similar word in a govt office and you will be in jail within no time.

Yes you are right.  In the hierarchy of laws that are enforced, this is tops. More important than the decades old thefts and murders that are yet to be solved. We will show Yuvraj who is boss.

So if bhangi is an actual caste, what's the problem?

If not, then who decides that Yuvi used this world as a slur or just making fun of Chahal. Evidence points to no bias involved as both Yuvi and Chahal are Jatt caste.

Anyone who consumes sharaab is sharaabi, charas is charsi and people use this bhangi word light heartedly when some acts high.

Arresting someone for this? What has India come to? as if gender biased laws and IPC 498 was not enough.

First you glorify drugs in the name of Gods, then cry when others even drop a hint and call you by that name.

An indicator that how useless and pathetic the state of affairs has become. A true dearth of leadership across political spectrum and too many sheeps all around. If you are in Vancouver, stay put.

What does said word mean?

There are two meanings, Bhangis are a caste and also used for people addicted to Bhang. This SC/ST act has been largely misused, but opinion is divided as it also saves a lot of lives in rural areas , serves as a deterrent .  There are cases of this act applied by Some caste people being spurned or rejected by UC girls. Just like the anti-Dowry law, just because a few people misuse it, the law still serves a lot of cases as a deterrent

Thanks. I thought Bhangi meant someone who does bhang - the thing consumed during Holi. Didn't know it was a casteist type of word.
