Sehwag scored 300’s and 200’s, Then we had Sachin, Dravid,Ganguly etc, still did VVS complain or  blame them? Similarly as @vvvslaxman pointed out Yuvi/Raina/Dhoni success came when we had a packed top order too with Sachin/Sehwag/Gambhir/Ganguly all vying for the opening slot and then there were guys like Uthappa,DK thrown into the mix as well.

 

You are either good or bad to bat in any position. Our planning could have been better but it is dumb to point a consistent performing set of players as a problem for the failures of others.

T20 is not ODIs where you get 50 overs. No batsmen can be good after playing 15 overs in middle in 2+ years. 

 

When yuvraj etc came, they got enough overs in the middle. Pant, iyer, etc can all be good but they simply dont get the match practice 

 

Dude an approach which hasnt won us a t20 cup in nearly 15 years cannot be a good approach. Teams like england have moved on  we are stuck in the 90s mentality of top 3 being conservative 

 

For eg today butler, malan were relatively struggling. If it was our top 3, they woukd try to tuj tuk, therefore, ali and livingstone wouldn't get enough balls

Turning out to be a quality match.  For some reason subcontinent sides don't pull off these contests often. 

Fielding bowling batting have been good on display.  Boult finally thrashed.  Proper contest.

As an Indian fan, I would never support NZ. They are a pain in our rear end in every ICC tournament

 

Only time I liked them when they trolled Pak and opted out of the tour
