zen
ENG and NZ, the two teams that tend to thrive in pressure situations, meet again in a world cup knockout game. Their last meeting at the 2019 ODI World Cup was memorable as we probably watched the best ODI game in the history of cricket. If the recent history is anything to go by, it could be a close game. Pre-match, I see it as a 50/50 game. Both the teams are led by astute and stoic captains. Both teams have won the last two world titles, England the ODI world cup champions, and NZ, the World Test Champions. Both teams are pretty good fielding sides as well. Where they differ is in their key strength - batting for Eng and bowling for NZ. The game could also turn into a battle of power plays with England's key in form batsmen Buttler, Bairstow, and Moeen battling the Kiwi swing bowlers. Toss, if dew settles in, could play a role too. Both the teams have played one game at Abu Dhabi where they dismissed their opposition for 124 and chased the target with 8 wkts remaining. So again a lot of commonalities b/w these two sides. Whichever team wins, let's hope for some great cricket! Cricinfo preview - Link ... Poll added for poll lovers. It closes before the toss tomorrow. Recent happy moments for these teams: BOL to both the teams!! Link to comment

I had put a coin on Eng to win the ODI WC 2019. When Ind beat Aus, I felt that luck had smiled on NZ to win the WTC. This time, I feel that Aus could be the favorite to win the title. Chalks
Quietly becoming a friendly rivalry for the ages in the shorter forms of the game (NZ generally have the wood over Eng in tests). We couldn't possibly have another Super Over...could we? Link to comment

NZ are lucky fellows, so they might take the toss & then this game will become interesting. In an ideal world, Eng should streamroll NZ in this match. Link to comment
