Popular Post goose Posted November 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 11, 2021 i pity the fools who rate their side based on T20 performance. it's a fruit machine. random number generator. tiddly winks. england pummeled australia - guess who's in the final! pakistan beat nz - guess who's is in the final! wake up people! it's high drama, very exciting. but it's no measure of anything. you can certainly be bad enough to lose. you can't force the issue though. no pre-tournament favorite has ever won the T20 WC. 50 overs is still the competition that matters by some distance. shastri was right. rollingstoned, nikrulz, diga and 12 others 2 1 11 1
vvvslaxman Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 2 good overs or 2 bad overs can change the course completely. Yes it is an unpredictable format. Nobody can win it consistently especially when toss comes into play as well. goose and diga 2
New guy Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 (edited) A 10 wicket thrashing and a first round exit cannot be justified no matter how many excuses you make Also england pummeling australia has nothing to do with kiwis playing better than england This has happened MANY MANY tines in ODIs and tests too so dobt understand your logic, Australia pummled kiwis in NZ, we pummeled australia but we lost to Kiwi Pakistan got pummled by india yet won the 92 cup. South africa was undefeated and dominated many ODI world cup league yet got pummeled in semis and quarters Pretending this only happens in t20s is hilarious Edited November 11, 2021 by New guy zen, sandeep, Singh bling and 6 others 2 7
cricketfan28 Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 It is still an good measure where is no unfair advantage. When there is no unfair advantage, it all comes down to execution which is a good metric.

We lost to kiwis in 2011 yet win the cup. South was undefeated and dominated many ODI world cup league yet got pummeled in semis and quarters Pretending this is only t20s is hilarious In 2011, we lost to SA and tied against England. We didn't lose to the Kiwis.

T20 cricket should not be played at international level. This is it. This is my comment. express bowling, Jungnu, goose and 2 others 5
goose Posted November 11, 2021 Author Posted November 11, 2021 cricket was not intended to be played like this. hitting skill and execution across the teams have evolved and converged to such an extent it will cease to matter. check out the points difference between the 2nd and 6th place side in the IPL almost every year. it's one loss/victory between those sides. sarcastic, sandeep and rkt.india 3
SK_IH Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 OP makes a great point. T20 cricket should not be a judge a team's abilities. However, T20 demands different skills sets which Indian cricket do not want to recognise. Norman and goose 2

Sean Bradley Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 No Genuine Cricket lover will think of T20 as highest form of Cricket or Teams worth or whatever you want to call it, but T20 is one of the forms and a pretty entertaining one of that. It's Pop Corn Cricket whereas Test Cricket is a full course meal. If you take a poll on ICF itself, many old school cricket lovers will take a test series win in SENA over next T20 world cup win. But Can T20 be ignored? No it cant, you can love or hate it but you cannot ignore it. goose 1

If we want to showcase hitting skills, start playing T20s with soft wind ball.

ODI cricket is still a fairly decent measure of quality without having a 5 day game. And its an endangered species. goose and express bowling 2

ODI World Cup will continue to flourish in future, JAMODIS will not have a space in FTPs, fair as a part of Work Load Management. Have a 4 year ODI World Cup, Lots of IT20s and League's to go along with Test Cricket. That's the future of Cricket.

Virat and his marketing monopoly driven selection policy was the big hurdle standing in the way of this. With Dravid at the helm, I expect this to happen. India won its lone T20 WC, when its 'regular' stars opted out - no disrespect to those players or to the current 'regulars' - T20 is simply a different format. And requires different skills. Guys like Virat especially at his current stage of his career - automatic picks and great players for Tests or ODI cricket - are not the best fit. I am waiting for Prithvi Shaw to get his extended run in white ball cricket under Dravid's guidance.

Lone Wolf Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Well it does... Playing scoops reverse sweeps switch hits.. Require talent & skill. And Australia showed their players have the skill set to deliver on the biggest stage. Indians don't have that talent nor does Pakistanis. Sri lankans can do it among Asians... That's why I love watching them play. T20 has different skills different strategies.. Power hitters. It's a format we haven't been able to grasp since 2007. I would have gone mental had an Indian player finished the game like this.
