Might just see Williamson get a fiver like Root, although no Rohit/Pant to rescue us this time.

Pluses ....

.. Prasidh selected

Minuses ....

.. Rahane and Pujara still retained after multiple poor years

.. Ishant Sharma still retained. He has become unfit and loses intensity after a few overs.

.. Shreyas Iyer is not a test quality batsman if he play overseas.

.. Why has Pant been rested for such a crucial test series after playing him for low key bilateral T20Is.

.. Still Saha ?

.. Not a single new test quality batsman selected.

In a nutshell, still preferring seniority and big names instead of current ability and form. No vision being shown for building a great test batting unit for the near future.

P.S .... Where is Washington Sundar  ?  Is he still unfit ?

Do our selectors even watch our players play? Don't they know ishbt is useless in India? Why do we have data scientists.

Right arm orthodox

I wasn't serious, just pissed at business as usual. Who knows what kind of tracks are available for first game. But yea, if we lose the first game on a regular track then the second is likely a dustbowl. Pujara & Agarwal will be our best bet while batting on such a track.

Probable playing 11

1. Rahul

2. Gill

3. Pujara

4. Rahane

5. Mayank

6. Jadeja

7. Saha

8. Ashwin

9. Axar

10. Umesh

11. Siraj

Not a bad line up for home test. Can win 2-0 with this squad. Mayank is very good at home. The bowling should be good enough to take 20 wickets under 400,350 even.

M Agarwal, KS bharat, J Yadav

We don't have better players than them?

@rkt.india

Bharat is good. Compact batsman wk. Test cricket will suit him. Don't have many off spinners in domestic cricket these days with abudance of left arm spinners around

Lack of ruthlessness is stopping us from reaching full potential.

Our policy is ... Just stick with the well known names and be " safe " if fingers are raised.
