Some ridiculous decisions.  They picked Pant for T20Is where they will have to report and be in bubble from 13th. Could easily have rested Pant (and Rohit) from the entire series (like Bumrah and Shami)

 

No issues with players being rested due to  bubble fatigue but struggling to get the logic of how they have arrived at who rests when.

three are good batsmen as well india will bat till 9. India should be odds on to win the series.

KL has improved.

 

Gill may either come out all guns blazing or flop. No idea where he stands.

 

Mayank - I have zero confidence in him.

 

Saha - Old and unknown as to how he will perform.

 

If players in form, they will click like crazy.

 

If things go wrong, we won't know head or tails about what happened.

Actually with Kohli gone at least one useless player of spin is gone.  

Rahane & Pujara will play though sadly.  But Rahane is specialist captain & is expert in leading weakened sides.

That's actually a good enough XI.  Only weakness is Pujara & Rahane but Rahane makes the team as specialist captain & his runs are bonus..  His failure will be great if Gill scores runs.

Mayank looked like a BOSS in 2018 Aus tour.

 

Looked poor in 2020 tour.

Current Mayank didn't played in India for strange reasons after that.  We almost lost a test series to England..  If not for Sundar & Pant playing clutch knocks.  Our middle order was super dud vs spin. 

Mayank still looks in great touch in IPl & continues to murder spin.  There isn't a better player of spin in the country right now than him.  With Boult absent...  Mayank will make mince meat of Kiwi attack this time.

Plenty of poor decisions made in assembling squads and also priority as well.

 

The T20 World Cup is over for India, so a useless T20 series v NZ should not involve Hitman and Pant.

 

These two should have been kept for the Test series. Stupid cricket, thats the philosophy of the BCCI.

Boult is a complete cannon fodder in India and Australia and in s.africa. he averages 36 in India.
