maniac Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Stoinis (Aus) Asif Ali (Pak) Pandya (Ind) Livingstone (Eng) Miller (SA) Pooran (WI) Neesham (Nzl) Mahamadullah (Bang) Nabi (Afghanistan) Hasaranga (SL) Picked one per team. Notable omissions include Jadeja (if you can call him that), Wade (usually not a power hitter/finisher despite the freak knock. mostly a top Order bat who plays conventional Cricket ), Bangladesh has this Akif guy who can hit some lusty blows but not seen enough so going with Mahamadullah I think SL lower order finisher is Karunaratne but not seen enough of him but a very handy cricketer. Hasaranga played some fine cameos and he too is a lower order mostly from what I have seen. Andre Russell plays way too low and he plays more as a bowler who can bat these days. Not including other 8-9 or below bats like Hassan Ali, Chris Jordan,Cummins or even Bravo (fine batsmen usually) I am going to stay neutral as an OP raki05 1
maniac Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 You can use stats to enhance your argument but let’s start with what we have seen live and then maybe use stats to prove a point because I feel we are going to see a lot of it now Norman and raki05 2
zen Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 (edited) Giving higher weightage to those who helped win knockout games and against stronger opponents at the group stage (from the top of the mind recall); 1. Stoinis - for his knock v Pak in SF. Stayed till the end and played a relatively longer inning as well (Batting 2nd) 2. Neesham - Played well batting 2nd (did not finish the game but that is ok with Mitchell at the other end) v Eng and contributed in the final too batting first 3. Livingston - contributed in SF batting first and did some good hitting batting 2nd on a small ground at S’jah v SA in a group game 4. Asif Ali. Scored a duck in the SF but gets points for doing well v NZ and AFG (both batting 2nd) 5. SDP - batting first (a relatively difficult task) - made the most of the 19th over v Pak (had just walked in), Attempted to stabilize a sinking ship v NZ (first at 48/4 and then at 70/5), and blasted off v AFG (35 off 13) 6. Nabi v Pak … held one end up 7. Miller did well v SL (had Rabada to share the responsibility as well) … batting 2nd at S’jah’s tiny ground 8. Pooran smashed BD at S’jah (batting first) Don’t recall Mahmadullah and Hasstsnga’s performances too much at the moment Edited November 16, 2021 by zen
Norman Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 *Took 17 off shaheen's over and steadied ship against NZ* intensifies raki05, Adamant, Cricspin and 1 other 4

vvvslaxman Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 If we strictly talk about who can hit the air violently then there is only one choice. Norman, GautiMaan, sarcastic and 1 other 4

Guys like Asif and Miller did not bowl & Stonis just bowled in 1 inning. They will lose their spots ... SDP bowled in 2 innings and generally fielded well too (so will go up). Livingston bowled too Edited November 16, 2021 by zen

Pollack Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 (edited) 1) Neesham 2) Asif Ali Daylight moonlight 3) Livingstone. Rest don't care. Last is Pandya (SDP) Edited November 18, 2021 by Pollack raki05, vvvslaxman, Vk1 and 1 other 1 3
Pollack Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 (edited) Although I totally expect Asif Ali to fade away.... he overachiever... expect Livingstone to improve further going forward.. Neesham is fine... Edited November 17, 2021 by Pollack raki05 1
