rangeelaraja Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 (edited) We have seen this picture before many times, saw it in the WTC final too. For all those who said he was equal to Pat Cummins in that thread where fast bowlers from India and Aus were compared, this test match has again proven why Bumrah has a significantly lower wickets per match ratios compared to Cummins - who is at the very least a couple of notches higher than Bumrah in tests . Bumrah for all his talent seems to go missing in entire test matches all too frequently unlike Cummins who is a lot more consistent. Adamant Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 That happens even with the best bro, that's why they average 22 23 and not under 20. I remember quite a few games where Dale Steyn went Missing. rollingstoned, f20143g70, express bowling and 1 other 1 3
vvvslaxman Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 We have to treat our bowlers as a unit. When one fails other shows up. It is rare all 4 bowlers turn up and perform at the same time. Bumrah is still our trump card in this match. sandeep and Chakdephatte 2
Sunil_narine024 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Performed in 4 matches on a trot in England. And now first test in South Africa. LOL! at goes missing far too often. 4:1 of good:bad matches type of bowler, I will take it with closed eyes. rollingstoned, Clarke, Chakdephatte and 2 others 2 3

The WPM differential between the two is significant and it tells a story. Under_Score 1

He will fail sometimes, but that's why we play five bowlers. No issues with it. Chakdephatte 1

Look at spinners he got for Asian conditions. has an avg of 39 in NZ and 29 in Eng; former is horrible and the latter is mediocre. Lack of support here as well? Besides, lack of support didn't stop several pacers from doing well in India: Steyn is the most extreme example, but there are others. As it stands, Rabada is not that diff than Boom - neither are Cummins.

He rose to the top when he mostly played at home. I've already said I rate Boom below Cummins, so don't place me in the category of Boom fanbois. Rabada is better than Boom on some pitches, that much is true.

I seriously hope Bumrah makes me eat crow by winning us the match tomorrow, but have very little hope. While he is extremely lethal when on a wicket taking spree —— When he is ineffective in getting breakthroughs he simply struggles the entire test match not just a bowling spell or two. Norman Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Lol at people declaring Cummins as the best test bowler. When was the last time he played a test match in Asia? And what's his record here? Don't remember a single great spell from him outside Australia and England. Chakdephatte and Banton 1 1

The deadest of tracks where no one from Oz looked like taking a wicket. Vijy 1
