KL Rahul captaincy watch

We know he has already started his captaincy stint in the second test match vs South Africa at the beginning of the year.

But let us watch and see how he will do this ODI series and further whenever he is going to be full time captain.

The emerging news is that BCCI is going to appoint him as the test vice-captain although Risabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah are in strong contention.
If KL Rahul wins this series as a captain, he will secure his vice-captaincy in test cricket as deputy to Rohit Sharma (who seems likely to be appointed as test captain).

 

KL Rahul, all the best to you in this new job. Show us what you are worth. Are you able to lead India in to the future.

He mentioned that he is opening only because of Rohit's absence...

Did he captained in odi before to this or did he open recently or is it you are speculating him to open. If so that would be worst, as him an Dhawan opening would be utter pathetic he will play same like rohit where he will take to many balls to do stats padding. Top 3 of Dhawan, KLR and Kohli would be pathetic to be honest.

2 things he should never be awarded captaincy in any format and he should not open in odi.

That would be real bad. Him opening means no place for V Iyer  in squad him and dhawan will open. Ever since Dravid became coach i was anticipating him to be given captaincy and than he will give himself opening slot. These current lot whether Kohli,Rohit or any other senior they take position where they can stat pad irrespective of team winning/loosing.

SA are resting Rabada, we will play Dhawan (36), Kohli(33), Ashwin(35), Bhuvi(32) while Ruturaj (24), Ishan (23) and Prasidh (26) will warm the benches. Frustrating and so very disappointing.

 

If we do not see course correction in team selection under Dravid, we are headed to. worse disaster than under Clown-Loudmouth combo

tells you that he is still insecure and worried about losing his place in middle order.. if they want to open at any cost why not create bidding for it every series and the winner can open happily.. also tells us that Dravid the original promoter of middle order wins you odi games theory.. the one who kept Dhoni in the middle order and created Jay Viru like combo of Dhoni & Yuvi is now happy to let KLR decide it for himself

I would enjoy KLR playing Warne. Warney could sniff out players who were mentally weak and lacking in confidence against spin, and then prey on their weakness (e.g., cullinan). He would torment KLR and it would be so much fun to see KLR's face when he gets out.
