Spot on. I can’t get the excitement of U19 tournaments. Unmukt Chand looked like Bradman. Where is he now ? 
 

Quite frankly only the first U19 WC winning team gave top Indian players. Kohli is the only other exception.

Nah Tanveer Snagha has been backed by Aussies as they value his talent.  If not for Covid guy could have been to various A tours to India already.

Bawa has Ben Stokes esque potential.  Can't wait to see him in IPl.  A left hander plus a potential test/ODI class fast bowler who extracts bounce.  Hopefully he does well.

Yes that one win was great but quite a few cricketers have had been part of few great victories without having a memorable career.

Pant batted like a *ing moron in test 2. Did he not? He batted like a moron in test 1 too apart from that 36 he scored at a crucial time. It was well deserved. 

 

I dont care If players get out. But brainless shots makes my blood boil. I do rate pant as our best ever keeper. Higher than Dhoni. 

 

In saying that I believe he is a mediocre odi cricketer. He averages 33 or something in List A albeit with a good strike rate. Hope he proves me wrong.

What does that have to do with under 19, there have been many players who have been part of one great victory. 

Not undermining Sundar here, I know he is talented but let's wait an watch how he actually becomes a great/good player before making conclusions.

We are starting about simple things like making a mark in the internationals not becoming next Sachin Tendulkar. This is strictly about under-19 transition to international cricket. Not some random first class player who did well in one match and disappears (like Hirwani). Sarfraz is from the same batch. He was more hyped. than any player. He is yet to find his feet in the internationals.

Bawa took 4 wickets and scored 35 crucial runs. He has something in him. India hasn't had success with allrounders in the past. He looks a genuine one.

The point is he is not settled in Indian team as of yet. He had great start, no doubt but he hasn't made it "big" yet.

I have liked Ravi Kumar too. He maybe a bit slow right now but can certainly get quicker. Bowled up to 135. Same as khaleel in 2016. On the taller side too. One fifer, one 4-fer in the tournament. Don't remember Indian seamer taking that many wickets in u19 wc.

Too early to say anything...

But one thing which goes in favor of this kid is....he is a genuine all-rounder....

He is not one of those utility one day player...

He is in mould of Ben stokes , Chris Crain's, Andrew flintoff...

Again...he had a long way to go in terms of his bowling and batting...

He should be drafted into A side immediately. Not that he has earned the place or ready for A tours but giving him that exposure is very important and allow him to learn
