vvvslaxman Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Great win against many odds. Captain/Vice captain both got indisposed. Missed matches. They managed with available resources yet dominated the tournament. Depth of the squad is amazing. Usually in under-19 matches our team would look a little down after top 3 wickets are gone. Not this team. Congratulations !! BacktoCricaddict, Laaloo, Vijy and 4 others 1 1 5
Lord Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 they hyped Dravid after last win. No one will talk about Kanitkar's role now. Don't even know what VVS is doing there. helperononline, raki05 and nevada 3

But ofcourse Dravid did fine tune some of the approach of players like Gill. raki05 1

SK_IH Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 It was a very well structured team & squad. A team full of all rounders, many batting options & varied bowling. It's generally hard to beat such teams. raki05, vvvslaxman, Norman and 1 other 4
Vijy Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Great win! Lots of challenges faced, and overcome with ease. Virtually all of the team, barring Harnoor and Tambe, contributed at various points in the tourney. true team performance. looking forward to seeing more of rasheed + raghuvansh (in FC), Hangu (all formats), Bawa (List A/T20), Bana (T20 and List A), Dhull (all formats), Sindhu (List A), Ostwal (FC + List A), and so on Mosher and raki05 2

Oh k i see what you mean. I think hype was more because players themselves paid complements to him. Laxman correctly puts out the reasons for success. India's under-16 program plays a very big part in India's performance in under-19 world cups. They have a great system in place. Sure Coach plays a role in fine tuning them. raki05 and Vk1 2

Many ARs who can shuffle up and down order (e.g., sindhu, bawa, hangu), batters who can bowl (e.g., raghuvansh), and bowlers who can bat. Edited February 6, 2022 by Vijy SK_IH and raki05 2

Don't pick the best players and redefine role for them. CSK is an example this season. Gambhir's KKR was like that in the beginning where his team would often have 4 seamers 4 spinners something like that. Some times he will not use spinners at all. Some times he will not use pacers much. THat flexibility is what we need. Vijy, raki05 and SK_IH 3

Take nothing away from Kanitkar and Bahutule but do not underplay Dravid's role in setting up solid structures for these emerging cricketers. Which makes his pathetic choices as the national coach even more frustrating. Vijy and Lord 2

Maybe hes better at establishing systems/environment than tactics/selection. raki05 and Vijy 2

Like Gasperini who is a great coach for weaker team (Atalanta) and not so much for stronger ones, in Italian Serie A football ShoonyaSifar 1

Sandeep99 Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Pretty amazing win. I like the composition of this team. So many players with multi skills. This is the template Indian cricket should follow. GautiMaan and raki05 2
Sandeep99 Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Dinesh Bana and Hangargekar will win massive amounts in the coming auction. Both terrific players and amazing hitters of the cricket ball. raki05 1
First class Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 This team might not have flamboyant players of 2018 addition but they showed absolutely wonderful big match temperament , self confidence and never say die attitude. Whenever team was in trouble, someone stood up and brought the team out of deep water. Like today , they were 4 down at 80 some runs but then, as expected, a match winning partnership. Collectively India's was the best team and deserved to win.
