Ankit_sharma03 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Win or losses, dnt give to much fck about bilateral . Key shud be to finding some answers to get the best order for 2023 Wc Ill talk about positives Krishna- needed a bowler for long time who has pace n bounce Siraj- high time he shud be an all format bowler.........happy that he got the full series Deepak chahar- We are struggling with wkts in PP and someone who can bat at 8...............always good to have options and he has become one Pant- with every knock i hope he gets better, indian team needs pant to come good Happy we found some answers in bowling as i feel that was more of a problem for us then batting Clarke, AuxiliA, anish2tweet and 3 others 1 5
Lord Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 can we judge bowling though against this WI side? good they did well but WI almost presented no resistance nevada, Norman and sandeep 3
vvvslaxman Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I like this series win because we didn't win with our familiar strength. Top order hardly delivered in this series.

SK_IH Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Once again the crucial no 4-5 slot was messed around randomly in each game. Who are no 4 & 5 in the first XI? If TM has any ideas about answer to the question, then it's fine otherwise this becoming another initiation towards disaster Top 3 continue to make merry & get each game, however the middle order is treated like crap with no consistency. Norman and Lord 1 1

They looked unprofessional. India could have experimented a bit more. Kohli could have been rested. Dhawan rested altogether alongwith KL Rahul. Lord 1

I'd add middle order batting as a positive. SKY, Pant, Rahul, Iyer and Washi showed resilience in the last 2 matches on tricky pitches rollingstoned and Lord 2

Prasidh for example tends to lose it when smashed specially in death overs in IPL. Chahar again got swing and against poor bats. We already know he can do well there. ofcourse good to have as many options as possible
SK_IH Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Deepak Chahar hopefully will now be a certaintity for India now, he should have played all 3 ODIs this series. Coming to batting, if top 3 remain the same, there is little chance of changing any kind of approach. If Washington & SKY play games together, their places have to swapped, SKY should not be batting before 30-35 overs preferably. Middle to lower order of Pant-Rahul-Sundar-SKY-Deepak Chahar is damn good. If only we get another batsman who can bowl a bit in too 3, it will be awesome. Lord and Vk1 1 1

Lone Wolf Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Yes it was a fruitful series. Still pissed that we wasted those 3 ODIs in SA. Now next ODI series is quite far away vs England away I reckon. In Middle order SKY Pant should be backed in T20Is & they should feel secure about their place. They will eventually find their feet in ODIs as well. Rahul at no 5 is good enough. I don't mind if we drop Rahul from T20s as he is playing Test & ODIs as well now. Kohli has to leave T20s as simple as that. No need dude.

bowl_out Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Some other things: - Pant is better off at No.5 than opening.. He hits the ball hard and his game is more suited for middle and lower order hitting - Top 3 is withering out fast.. We need Shaw and Ruturaj to play a few matches soon for succession planning nevada 1

I think it was not a bad show by MO batters .Mind you this pitch is not total patta . Pace, bounce & some turn. KL looked very good , Pant was good , Shreyas was scratchy but stuck it out , SKY got runs . So all 4 did rather well , not like what happened in SA. So more or less MO batters are identified, if one fails give chance to other among these. Concern is Top 3 together and more so #3 if virat cannot pull up.

We could have tested Bishnoi AND so many players but noooo lets get Dhawan in idiot fans deserve idiot selections like this going gaga over a pathetic win against a minnow WI side. Sundar played, Kulcha were tested. Prasidh was tested.Chahar was given a go. Thakur played. Ruturaj probably would have played but for Covid. Otherwise they did okay with selection except Dhawan/Rahul selection.
SK_IH Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Overall I agree with @Lord here, there is nothing positive to take from beating this mediocre WI team in ODIs, i mean they were walloped in ODIs by Ireland in WI recently
vvvslaxman Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 It also exposed our biggest weakness which is our fielding. Rohit was visibly unhappy. I am sure there will be discussion.
