Arshdeep Singh is Gold

Recommended Posts

What a Find! This guy emerging out of no where has not only strengthened the team but have also boosted our prospects in the upcoming Asia Cup and WT20, and suddenly made our good attack look even better.

To find a tall lanky canny bowler, with old Mitchell Starcuesq Yorkers in the death is something that no Indian fan would have expected, He's springed a suprise, and man! what a surprise it has been.

Respect to this guy :hatsoff:

When Nattu started playing he was landing yorkers at will. Bowled very well in Australia. Post injury not the same. Arshdeep is a perfect replacement of him.

How do u know post injury not the same. he has played much bro.

In the iPL, missed yorkers consistently landing full tosses.

Yes, he was pretty wayward with the line and length.

That's why consistency matters. You cannot watch someone for a few games and conclude that he bowled right line and length and is all phase so that solves all our problem and changes the whole dynamic because things can change pretty quickly. Consistency is determined by performance over a long duration and not 8-10 games.

Exactly.

You need real hard hitting hit the deck to be deemed a world class talent. Arshdeep doesn't quite have that bounce. He is good elsewhere but a lot of work to do.

Nattu never generated in swinging yorkers.  This guy has that ability.   Mitchell Starc esque with lot less pace.  Also feels like he is lot more accurate as well.

Arshdeep is surely a great find for us as far as T20s are concerned.

He is doing better than hard hitting Prasidh.

Arshdeeps most important weapon is not his yorkers as everyone knows about it. Its his uncanny way of holding the ball in another hand and then changing to bowling hand in last min ala akram.. so its very difficult to judge his grip and on top of it hr has a fantastic slower ball.. all three combined makes him pretty difficult to pick specially in death overs as the ball is also a bit old and scuffed up.. no wonder they leave him for death.. if a new batsman walks in which normally happens in last 3-4 overs its not an easy job to pick him from the word go..

Nattu became famous for saving a match by bowling like 6 perfect yorkers on the trot. That is his skill. In Tests he showed he can swing the ball especially good with taking the ball away from left handers.

To me he looks unruffled under pressure. Yes any bowler can be lined up if you study the bowler enough. But good bowlers keep surprising the batsmen.

Arshdeep has a much higher ceiling than Nattu

He is taller

He is a bit quicker and has the potential to add more pace

He is much younger

He is better at deception

He gets more late swing on his Yorkers.

Now that Harshal is unavailable, would Pandya do the job well as the middle order enforcer? We have a thread for it praising his skills as enforcer in middle order. Isn't it? So, can he come to the party?:police:

pandya was anyways better then harshal in middle phase, harshal becomes a match winner in death overs .

Harshal isnt an enforcer, umran is .
