Cringe Commentary

I have to watch the whole thing mute. It cannot get more nerve cringing. Is it just me or everyone else is feeling the cringe as intensely ? It’s so bad that I await Manju to come online.

It is bad. I like Vivek Razdan and Maninder. Both are good. Can't stand Akash, Deep, Jatin, Irfan and Gambhir.

those guys in Hindi & other local languages.. they don't know some of the words so it mostly sounds like half english plus their internal banter & humour sense makes it unbearable

Shaandaar, behatareen.. maybe  it’s novelty factor for me. But long time since I listened to Hindi commentary. Preferred it for morose Sanju Majnu and Bakar Younis

Waqar,Akram and co. carry deep hatred towards Indians in general. Calling them bhaji and **** like that makes my blood boil. If you have to collaborate with them,atleast be professional and use the First Name you Idiots. I don't see anyone in foreign media or press calling Sunny Gavaskar Sunny Sir.It's always first name which is the correct way to address anyways.

BCCI needs to start commentary course for ex-cricketers with entrance exam both for English and Hindi. If BCCI has coaching certificates, why not commentary certificate too!

Why should BCCI set up these courses?

The broadcaster should pay for and arrange these certifications.

there was a graphic about India's win percentage at 7.5 overs vs now kind of thing.. Akram bhai probably saw it for the first time he couldn't comprehend it and just said India's win percentage.. their level of unpreparedness and unprofessionalism

That's nothing compared to what Rubbish Deep Dass was throwing around...  He was surprised with Naseem's performance in his first Int'l match & was surprised he showed no nerves...  Wasim then reminded him that guy has a Test hattrick & is part of Pak test team for more than 2 years.. And recently played ODIs too....  I mean Deep Das is probably worst commie alive along with Athar Ali 'my god' khan.

Lodu Harbhajan and Agenda Vikrant.. Gambhir doesn't believe in bhaichara with these idiots and his game shows that. He has played many match winning innings for us especially that Final. Show some respect.

Why do they have to use words like "bhai" and "paaji" all the time especially in English commentary. Actually,  the Indian team as well. There's no need to refer to someone as bhai etc. First names are good enough.  They are all professionals and should behave as such. 

 

Also, Star should look to do some serious analysis the way Sky Sports does things. The Masala stuff, banter etc. should be only on Hindi commentary/broadcast for those who want it.

Colloquial stuff.  Just like in the South people add Sir after the first name as a sign of respect. Sunny Sir, Rajni Sir, etc

I mean this wasn't always the case. In the old days of ESPN- Star, it was a lot more professional than this.
