How do you know that he doesn't influence decisions? On paper, he might just be the convener but reality might be rather different.

It's not like they publicly disclose the minutes of the meeting.

A mute video should also be released along with MoM

Yes, he is there to run the business, not select players or coaches or even selectors. He is an administrator. BCCI create advisory cotton select coaches or selectors. Administrators don't select any coach.

business (franchise stakes), endorsements and selections are proportionally related. I am not saying Jay Shah looks at domestic stats etc, he will influence/override  selections were money or political issues are involved.

He will not do it for all selections obviously but will step in where required.

So then what is he doing in selection meetings? He was also the one who officially announced the 2021 t20 wc squad.

Using Indian cricket's massive popularity to become a known face and 'brand'.  His baap is prepping him for a political career down the road.

gives me another pappu vibe. Doesn’t have the same “charisma” (maybe the wrong use of the word) and aggression of his dad. Apart from the most obvious one there are quiet a few pappus out there in Indian politics these days.

Don't think Amit Shah is that stupid. BCCI doesn't have any influence on government. Jay's business, anyway, is booming, so they don't even need this popularity.

How many incompetents have been accommodated with political careers at the highest level in India? Simply because of whose offspring they were/are?  Mind you this is not just an India phenomenon.  Name recognition, branding is a powerful force for Human minds. It is what it is.

what "business".  how did he magically end up creating a business so quickly after his father become a major government figure.

Stop denying the blatant nepotism.  What were his qualifications that led to him being "inheriting" the chief of BCCI kursi?   Of course Bjp worshippers are going to find this aspect uncomfortable to discuss...

Meaningless isn't it.

These were harmless blokes who may not  have the powers to even change the janitors in the bcci office.

Dhyaanbatkau or call it whatever you may like..I pity the selectors  poor guys

Jay Shah as BCCI head is a crime that nobody in India or even this forum dares to speak up against.  Wonder why that is.

Many have, including myself. Maybe you chose not to see them.

Same way Rohan Jaitley 'inheriting' the DDCA post just because his dad was in it? Thats a bigger crime. He's one of the most rudest and slimiest prick whos unqualified to handle this top post...
