Is KL talking about the BD series or being assigned the role considering the upcoming ODI WC?

Yes. He can fit no4 bat.  And adding with wicket keeping.  However he is not cluch player and can miss stumping at crucial occasions. However I can take him over kartik or pant. Ishan can get over him but he is not consistent enough.

So KL is back as a keeper now, TM planning is all over the place. He was keeping in ODIs and T20Is before Pant got that 100 in Aus  and they also tried Kishan and Samson in between, why can't they 0-in on a wk.

 

Then they got Pant in T20Is and ODIs, now again going back to KL. Then why have they picked Pant and Kishan into this BD tour. if team is asking KL to keep then they should drop Pant, Samson and Kishan from T20Is and ODIs completely and ask KL that you are their only keeper , they carry to a series ,do good or do bad you will be keeping and there is no safety net.

 

On keeping skills all the options but Pant are poor. But also to mention when Pant got into internationals he was poorer than the current and back-then  keeping skills of Samson and Kishan. At starting he was dropping catches, bad DRS reviews (still no improvement there), and I think in one of the matches he collected the ball before the Stumps, even kids at club level do not make such mistakes, its the part of daily routine, your muscle memory should not have allowed this. Even at age level/club matches Coaches drops or  give some kind of punishment to wk for doing this silly mistake and costing a wkt for the team 

 

 

Or this could just be a way to keep Pant's position intact till he finds some form some where and not let Sanju/Kishan/Someone else get a chance and perform. They kinda did with Pandya as well when they brought in V.Iyer and dropped him for good as soon as Pandaya's SM built him up

This smelled like a long term plan the moment the news hit the airwaves. Why else would they pack off Pant just an hour before the start of the game? Looks like the TM is very firm on keeping KL in the team. After a poor T20WC, they now vacate the keeper position to accommodate him. Also, their favorite opener Dhawan can enjoy his farewell tour till the WC. Road Safety series is more interesting at this stage than watching this washed up rehab X1!

Exactly this regionalist moron Dravid want kela at any cost no matter how many times he screw India. This top 4 should have no place after last T20 wc shameful exit but Dravid and Rohit has completely evaded it and started doing same chutiyapa. Another shameful exit in wc coming up.

Is kl managed by the same company as Rohit? The Sajdeh family manage both players, virat managed by a different company, pant again different, there is more to selection than just cricket.

Shardul or Deepak will play there...basically that player will bat at no 8 so it will be a bowling allrounder.

I was hoping that 5 would be Samson or Pant, but looks like they are leaning towards Kela

Unless he is injured or horribly out of form, chances of happening are very low.
Dhawan carries reputation of perfoming in ICC tournaments. Infact his absence at the top in 2019 WC was given as a biggest reason of our failure. As 2023 ODI WC seems to be the last ODI WC for Rohit, he is gonna pick up every possible experienced batter for Indian conditions.
Plus he's a leftie and hence TM will expect him to counter the left arm swing and spin, against which both Rohit and Kohli struggle when new to the crease.
