Lessons to be learnt from Pakistan's home defeats

Right now we might be laughing at their situation but this could very easily be us in a couple of years when Ash-Jad will no longer be the force they once were and the mediocre Axar inevitably losing his novelty factor of darting everything on middle stump.

We have no spinners currently who can have even half the effect of Ashwin and Jadeja had at their peaks... even on helpful wickets. And with our batting quality against spin dropping to new lows each day (with the exception of guys like Iyer, Pant  etc) , we may get easily rolled over on home soil.

Umesh and Shami are not getting any younger too so their reverse swing spells will also be missed. With Bumrah spending more time on the hospital bed than on the ground, our TM may opt for flat decks like in the 2000s and there's no way our bowlers (especially the fast ones) will outperform the more fit, fast and athletic pacers from SENA.

Bottom Line : We need to find the replacements to Ashwin and Jadeja and we need to find them quick.

Don't worry, Dravid is working on it. The day is not far when Harshal, Sakariya, Unadkat can be our main bowlers & Axar will be the strike guy with his pacy darts. Shah jr will be proud of his state's contributions & will be awarded bharat ratna.

You won't find any replacements for Ashwin and Jadeja at home. It is not just their bowling, it is their batting also which has played vital role in Indian home domination.

I don't think the situation is as dire. Axer is quite a handful on "helpful" Indian wickets. Very few expected him to succeed in the series against England but he had a crazy good wicket haul and average. Who's to say we won't find 1-2 more domestically successful spinners like him? Batting is a bigger concern but remember that the likes of Mayank, Iyer etc are capable of scoring heavily on Indian tracks.

Ashwin and Jadeja were great bats too at home. These two are irreplaceable combo.  India had opportunity to try some genuine domestic talents.  Instead we went with Jayant yadav.

Nadeem and SUndar were just okay here. Was not threatening.  Besides Ashwin/Jadeja didn't always bowl on helpful tracks.  SOme tracks were decent for batting. If they want to try they should start with Mulani.

I have no hope when it comes to planning. either we will just get lucky thanks to 1000× more resources than any other country or continue to be mediocre.

We are wasting Ravi Bishnoi in T20s and Kuldeep Yadav in ODIs and Tests just because Chahal has good relations with the seniors in the team.

I feel bad when we lose but then I see how they treat Kuldeep and Ravi and think these b@stards deserve nothing less. How else can a guy who took hattrick in last game is sitting out for a loser like Chahal

Yes our golden era of Test cricket (2015-2021) has ended I think.

We don't have the bowling or the batting talent to be as good anymore.

Our system is not good enough to bring the best out of the limited talent that we have at our disposal.

It's quite obvious in white ball cricket but will become apparent in Tests too.

I want us to whitewash OZ 4-0 but don't think that is possible now.

for jaddu, it can be saurabh. nowhere near the same in terms of batting, but is decent spinner. alternative is mulani: better bat than saurabh, maybe not as good a bowler. axar is also around

for ashwin, it is probably kuldeep yadav

We have many clones for Jadeja...closest one is in Dharmendra Sinh Jadeja (:cheer:), Sai Kishore is there as well.
Leggies we have Kuldeep Yadav, Shreyas Gopal is another one who can bat as well.
Offies is what I am worried about...don't recall anyone other than Sundar.
