SKY in Test squads....  Ishan as 2nd/Ist Wk??? 

 

Good squads after a while but Chahal's continued inclusion is poor

For home series, only 13 players should be announced, with 4 -5 reserves. That ensures the selection committee is doing their job. Right now there put all probables in the squad and the team management favorites get to play.

How is SKY picked ahead of Sarfaraz in red ball?

Sky's inclusion is more like how Australia played Bailey in 2013-14 Ashes after he was having good year in white ball.

Nope not at all...  Sarfaraz looks like a clown whenever he plays for India A & in IPl.

Shaw has disciplinary issues don’t think we will see him soon. His issues are reported multiple times to BCCI.

But they may not include Shaw,Jitesh and Kuldeep in 1st Xi..

and include Gill/Gaikwad,Hooda and Chahal

Did anyone notice in ODIs squad Ishan Kishan doesn't have (wk) in front of his name only KS Bharat has.

Harampanti dekho bc ki. They will play KSB ahead of Surya for NZ ODIs just because they have reserved that place for Kela.

Yes I noticed too..and was thinking the same..Kishan was doing really good as keeper..G todd do saalo ki..

would be glad to be proved wrong..

Though..if tgey play KSB directly in ODIs its going to be extremely ridiculous..then will be out in the open..stating whole country is fool..and TM care about ****..

If not in Tests , i see a definite role for players like SKY in ODI X1. 

Many a times a T20 like innings against best opposition bowlers will  completely upset their plans to control the game .

I feel going forward teams will have couple of good correct players who will keep the score at run a ball and may change gear when required and will have

couple of T20 stars who can play at very good SR.

Idea would be play 30 overs of ODI and try to play next 20 overs in T20 way  for that you will need couple of T20 stars.  

Even a small cameo can make 300 score to 330 while setting target and while chasing these cameos can bring the RRR down so that rest of lower order batters can  breathe easy . Whole idea of choking the RR will disappear.  

On the flip side , some matches may be lost but it seems to be next directional change in ODI team composition. 

Ideally have 1 opener who is a high SR T20 star, 1 Anchor opener , an anchor at 3 or 4 , 1 T20 star at 5 or 6  plus little better bats at 7 , 8 & 9 rather than total duds.

Agree with the sentiment but if Bharath is wk in Aus test series (which seems 99% sure) he must play these ODIs.  Will be bloody hard to make a debut vs ruthless Aussies with no exposure.
