Excellent decision by him to leave on high note.People were wanting him to play based on this series. But I think he understands his days of him being good are over.

Since he's still not out.. will they give guard of honour to him tomorrow? Getting honoured by warner in his last match and then picking his wicket again immediately in 4th innings will be a great end to their love story

warner may gift the wicket for old time's sake. after all, Oz selectors ain't kicking him out, so he can afford one more failure

One of the most resilient and consistent Test bowlers, but by no means one of the greatest. Would not even rank in top 3 of Eng all time list since WW2. Of the ones I have seen, this is the order I would pick: 1. Willis; 2. Andie; 3. Snow; 4. Broad; 5. Gough.

there's also fred trueman who would be easily above all the five I mentioned (possibly brian statham as well in the top 5). I didn't see either of them though.

He is better than snow, Statham, even Willis, Gough. I consider him even better than Anderson. More versatile.

I did say he is better than gough, and maybe better than statham too (I only said statham may be in top 5). I don't agree regd snow, willis, anderson, and trueman. you can throw numbers at me, and I can throw numbers at you and it won't change anything

he always had something. the height was there, swing was there, and had more pace than now (even at 37, he can bowl over 135 kph every now and then)

Terrific player. Capable of running through lineups on his best days. Didn't do much in Asia though. His best performances came in England, South Africa and New Zealand but it was there for a long period.

One of the finest England has produced. 600 test wickets dont come every day.

I thought even he will stretch his career like Anderson and end up taking close to 700 wickets. But he picked right time, bowled brilliantly in current Ashes series. He had opted out of Pakistan series last year, may be he didn't see himself getting picked for India series so I think it is right decision. Will Anderson tour India if he continues to play?
