Rachin Ravindra vs Washington Sundar

Sundar is way far off. Just doesn't have the strokes to be a top order batter

 

 

If I had to choose one among Gill and Ravindra, I'd chose the latter because of his additional skills with the ball and the growth he is showing

No comparison in any dept.   Ravindra is far better batsman and bowler.  He is a complete package.  More importantly, Ravindra does not get injured after playing 10 consecutive games. Sundar does not hv the fitness nor the stamina to last beyond 2-3 games.

There is no comparison as far as batting talent is considering.

 

Even in bowling both are pretty much the same except Washington can bowl better in t20s.

 

Sundars beat format is test cricket and I hope we get him to play at 5

Because he failed. Competition is high for those spots so he has to show some potential to get additional chances.

Rachin is far far ahead.

As a batsman he has a very high ceiling, very handy as a bowler though.

 

Sundar has literally hasn't gone anywhere since 2020, seems to be stuck at the same spot from last 3 years. 

 

As someone said earlier, it makes sense to compare Rachin with Abhishek Sharma. A proper batsman who can roll his arm and bowl some good 6-7 overs. Sundar at the moment is light years behind.

Some morons wanted Sundar to become number 4  in test cricket for India.

 

Sundar had all time in the world to become a top order batsman.He needs to start batting in top order in FC cricket and make big runs.

 

Rachin will be their top order batsman in all formats. His bowling is big plus.

His growth curve is stunted. We all thought he would get better with bat. But for some reason he continues batting lower down the order doing this support role. At this point India cannot afford to have one-dimensional players. Parag, Abhishek all these guys come ahead. Not sure how they will translate their potential into international success. But they deserve chances.

We are all forgetting the impact of injuries. Let's remember Gabba 2021. The guy probably has all the tools and capabilities of Rachin Ravindra, but the stop-start-stop-start career due to injuries has set him back a lot. He's starting from scratch.

gabba 2021 was almost 3 years back. his best year was 2021. after that, zilch.

True. But oft-injured. One can get on his case for lack of fitness, but not lack of ability. He 's still young and might still turn things around.

Because power is not needed. He has the technique and temperament.

Stat wise, Rachin looks to have pottential to be competing with Yuvi.

He has good temperament for number 7 or 8 .But his bowling is not good enough to command a place in the team even in India.
