Matthews walks in.

Tightens his helmet strap which gets broken.

Shakib appeals for time out and he is declared out. He asks Shakib to withdraw but Shakib stands his ground.

History is created.

Only naagin rivalry could have given us this.

:phehe:

Maybe he thought this mode of dismissal will be henceforth called Shakibed and live in the annals of cricket history forever. Or maybe they thought this is only way they could try and qualify for the Champions trophy.

What is wrong with Shakib, how can any captain do this.

If you had seen his behaviour in that Nidahas trophy you would not be surprised. In some match when they were chasing he was demanding that some batsman who was batting out there refuse to play coz the umpire didn't give a wide/no ball. Classy behavior from that lot is more the aberrationsll rather than the norm.

They may get pumped anyway. Lmao.

I saw that video , it was despicable. These guys have wrong understanding of playing with aggression.

This becomes your legacy as a captain.

Umpires and MR couldn't have changed it.

Extremely Petty from Shakib, if you consider the broken Helmet. Such delays must have happened a thousand times in Cricket but no one so far had ever appealed for a timeout.

Anyways an on-field controversy is always enjoyable to watch lol. The Naagin Derby didn't disappoint.

Won't blame Shakib, he has all the right to appeal. Umpire should have given it not out.

Once captain appeals ,umpires cannot do anything. It just like Mankad, or run out due to obstruction. If onfield captain appeals umpires have no choice but declare the batsman out.

He was at the crease before 2 minutes and that is what matters. The law is vague. It says be ready to face. Shakib got it on technicality.

40.1 Out Timed out 40.1.1 After the fall of a wicket or the retirement of a batter, the incoming batter must, unless Time has been called, be ready to receive the ball or for the other batter to be ready to receive the next ball within 2 minutes of the dismissal or retirement.
