Absolutely disgusting. Heads must roll at Sports Tak to badmouth such a hero of this nation

Recently, a journalist from Sports Tak body shamed the Indian captain Rohit Sharma on national television. He referred to his fellow colleague spotting a belly to be similar to Rohit Sharma, saying: “I don’t know what to say but he will soon become Rohit Sharma, his belly has popped out.”

Body shaming is never acceptable, and it is especially egregious when it is directed at a public figure like Rohit Sharma.

He is an athlete. He is paid top money. He needs to be fit. This is not body shaming, more like telling the truth.

He isn’t paid top money to look a certain way. That isn’t the end goal. At best, that’s the byproduct of his game.

He is in a rich vein of form batting wise and is captaining his team well. That indicates a certain level of fitness. Has he failed the yo-yo test? On what basis are you calling him unfit? Basis physical structure you observe on TV?
Commenting on body fat % is a new low even for our media, if you can call this channel that.

But then again Vada pav/pregnant lady/ Maggi jibes were all too frequent even on this platform so we know that an audience exists for this type of stuff.
