Sooda Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 He's such an experienced pro and we're fuddu lay person observers How do we see the need for slip fielders , and aggression and he doesn't There is no total to defend, Kuldeep forced to bowl middle and leg line as a defensive bowler Lord, zen, express bowling and 2 others 1 4
Lord Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Exactly. Pathetic field set for the spinners making them ineffective. His fanboys on this forum @sage @Global.Baba will still defend this. cricspirit, express bowling and Frustrated 3
Sooda Posted November 19, 2023 Author Posted November 19, 2023 And could have had more fielders close or in the ring to stop easy singles The accumulation looked so easy Make them go for big shots Take risks
chewy Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Never rated him as an international cricket player or captaincy. Over a decade of international cricket and can't play swing. Will sign off as a certified choker, atrocious fielding captaincy today.
AKane Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Did he not see the mistakes that Bavuma and SAf made while setting Aus a similar total? Everyone was screaming about Bavuma not having slips even for a Coetzee bowling at 150 kmph.... everyone was screaming about the lack of close in catching all match. Did he not learn anything from that match? At least Bavuma had Coetzee bowling his heart out at 150 kmph - we did not have that either. Did they even bother to see the SAf/Aus game which was after their own semi?
Laaloo Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Yeah it was appalling today after the first 6 overs. Disgraceful really. Lord 1
the don Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Yeah inexplicable how he didnt have a slip for the spinners even though the required rate never went above 5. He froze. Frustrated and Lord 2
rish Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Pathetic captaincy. The body language from all players was self defeating. No slips. No close in fielders or chatter. No bowling to one side of the field.Bowling changes should have been quick and jn bursts of 3 overs max. Jadeja just darted the ball.He could have taken a couple of sixes to atleast buy a wicket. The team played like individuals with each ones rep on the line.
coffee_rules Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Everybody looked tired focusing on winning all 9 games at group stage. They entered the field to defend looking dejected and tired. Rohit more ghat be still thinking about his shot, not having put enough on the board. They could have used more scorecard pressure at 47/3
vvvslaxman Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Collectively choked in every aspect. He batted well in power play. That is where our performance ended in this match. After that captaincy, batting, fielding everything went tops turvy
zen Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ind was less likely to win the WC with Rohit as captain despite playing at home (where a SF spot is usually guaranteed - 87 SF, 96 SF, & 2011 W).
Sooda Posted November 20, 2023 Author Posted November 20, 2023 Appreciate conditions changed, dew made it easier to bat But we did nothing in the field to make it a bit harder. After the powerplay there was no slip, and too many easy singles to be had. Head vs Kuldeep was crying out for a slip catcher to challenge the outside edge. Frustrated and coffee_rules 1 1

Didn’t watch the game live but most of these guys need almost everything to go their way to look good (or unbeatable). If a couple of things don’t work out, they lose the plot, and maybe interest and the will to fight it out. Ultimate_Game 1
Frustrated Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Under Kohli's captaincy, we had lost 4 out of 4 ICC trophies (CT2017, WC2019, WTC 2021 and T20WC 2021). Under Rohit, we hv lost 3 out of 3 so far (T20WC 2022, WTC 2023 and WC2023). If Rohit stays as ODI captain for another 1 yr, he can easily equal Kohli's proud record of 4 ICC losses. (There is a CT2025 coming up in Paxtan. Imagine getting humiliated in Paxtan)

Two edges went begging one off each Head and Labu. Any wicket would put more pressure on them especially that of Head
bowl_out Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 One more thing is why KL was standing so far back on a slow pitch. Had he been standing a couple of meters closer to the stumps, the first ball would have carried to first slip.. Also, Ash ahead of Siraj would have made a lot more sense with bat and ball. Ash's presence would have given a bit more confidence to Virat and KL, so they wouldn't have gone so much into a shell.. And he would have added 20-25 to the score, we might have ended with 275 or so. Plus I'm pretty sure Ash would have troubled Head more than Siraj ever did. If Aus was 70/4, that would have put so much more pressure on Labu and Maxwell. Lot of whatabouterty here, but it was worth the gamble.
Sooda Posted March 9, 2025 Author Posted March 9, 2025 Again No slip for Kuldeep Vs Rhb Mitchell comfortable in the sweep and paddle
putrevus Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 (edited) He wants cake and eats it too. Finals in 2023 was 50% lost due to his phattu captaincy. Leaking some boundaries vs taking wickets should be easy choice for any captain except this bozo.Once batsmen are set there is no stopping them.He seems to forget that easy point.
