After the failure to win the WC at home there needs to be reset and rebuild take place with fresh thinking and that starts from the top.

Laxman is just a poor man's Dravid with even less coaching credentials.

Ind cricket is simply not serious about winning. Its the same old tired players, formations and tactics being endlessly recycled.

Laxman as coach will almost be same as Dravid. Think he is too old school and conservative and not the right choice for the modern game. He was not even a regular in the limited overs team

He could be the coach for the test team but not for LOIs. But I don't think there will be different coaches for different formats.

Hiring Indian head coach is a serious job. What is his coaching experience? What is his track record in coaching? The answer is nil. He should be nowhere team India to coach.

Get someone who has done coaching sheet for 25 years before declaring him the head coach.

Morons at BCCI never fail in disappointing me.

So Indian Think Tank has become circle jerk of seniors who themselves never played the brand of cricket needed to succeed now. Someone like Finch or eoin morgan should be looked in, but we will end with laxman who groom the next gen of kumars.

Thing is - they don't need any superstar or ultra-talented ultra-successful cricketer to coach the team.  What they need is a coach. Someone who can keep a harmonious dressing room atmosphere, can read the game, is tactically brilliant and can prise out any technical or mental issues plaguing a player. Often, highly talented players are unable to do this.

Will never watch indian cricket henceforth. Can't bear this any more.

I'll bet you are watching the T20 match right now :-)!  It's like a moth/flame relationship. No matter how many times the moth is burned by the flame, it will keep coming back for more.

India should stop having a single coach . They should have multiple batting and bowling coaches , with the style of play they want to encourage ….

borrow some ideas from the NFL … 12 coaches ..

Power play Hitting

Non Power play Hitting

analyst 1

throw down assistant 1

power play bowling - fast

Non power play bowling - fast

analyst 2

fitness coach 1

throw down assistant 2

power play bowling - slow

Non power play bowling - slow

analyst 3

throw down assistant 3

field coach

analyst 4

fitness coach 2

strategic / situational awareness  coach

head coach

Head analyst / AI/ML director

team director

each coach should come with a plan on what they will improve with measurable results .

Stadiums should be outfitted with hitting areas and bowling area during the match

we need coaches to sign up for key results and be reader very handsomely for it …

don’t think VVS Laxman and his kind will bring anything new .. we look towards the west of innovation and don’t tend innovate internally ..

Physical fitness should be part of the coaching and should be separate

Laxman is less than Dravid in almost every respect as far as coaching is concerned. So it does not look like a step forward. He will be more symbolic and Captain will likely have more power. provided that we do not even have a good captain coming up, it will come down to how the players perform by themselves ..lol

I am still not over with India missing this world cup. If we won this one then I could have waited another decade for the right combinations to come along. This defeat has cut too deep.

T20 squad against Australia will 7-8 left handed batsmen in the playing 11... Not sure if it was Dravid/Laxman who decided that but there is a conscious effort to develop the team. I am sure we will see better results in the coming days

It’s cos in t20 , left handers seem to have an inherent advantage of settling in quickly. They haven’t designed it but natural selection at work .
