putrevus
How did our great Prasidh who is cannot miss express fast bowler bowling thunderbolts at 130 plus do in this series .He fullfills all categories required by our inhouse fast bowling experts fare in the series .Plus he has been subjected to so many injustices by various TMs according to same experts. If this great guy played ICC test finals India would have beaten Aussies easily. Question is will this bowler who has been a victim all thru his career get more chances, SA was where he was supposed to stamp his authority but unfortunately TM did not give him chance to open the bowling in any of the innings. Australian team will be hoping and praying that this guy does not tour them..They don't want to face his wrath . Edited January 4 by putrevus tweaker, Jaydev_Unadkat and G_B_ 3 Link to comment

But he was not selected when he was in prime form according to many in-house experts here.Plus he is coming of an injury according to same in house experts. I don't see what that prime form was , given he has only played 12 FC matches in his career. Edited January 4 by putrevus Link to comment

singhvivek141
His performance was absolutely pathetic. There are some moments in a bowlers career post which supporting them becomes very very difficult. BK giving 100+ runs in ODI was one Vinay Kumar getting thrashed in Perth was another Prasidh's performance in this series falls in that criteria He has tools to succeed, but he need to learn how to use them. Considering he is almost touching 28 now, not sure if there is a time left for him to comeback. express bowling and Norman 2 Link to comment
Suhaan
Prasidh clearly looked out of sorts I have a problem with these guys is they don't use their own mind, they don't own themselves Always looking for advises, this was tailor-made pitch to just bowl at a length(here just tad back of length)to generate discomforting bounce given his height Prasidh clearly lack mental fortitude, presence of mind,he needs to play more FC Might as well try his luck in counties like Ishant to get better and used to deliver in SENA lengths tapandrun, singhvivek141, raki05 and 2 others 5 Link to comment

Then it should be a bit more domestic marination before he plays for the national side, which hopefully won't be anytime soon. Unless he has an alter ego we are unaware of, in which case . coffee_rules
We keep trashing them all. Apart from Siraj i the last 2 years nobody else has been persisted. @express bowling Why is it so? He looks good - fast (not phasht) tall, lanky and hits the deck. No temperment. What happened to Tyagi, Saini, etc, they play in 2 tests and are shelved. Going back to Umesh is not good. We dropped Umran for Mukesh. We need pace bowlers. Where will the next Bumrah, Shami come from? raki05, Vijy and tweaker 3 Link to comment

Too much chopping and changing helps no one. Prasidh was clearly a disappointment in this series and missed a golden opportunity as he may never get another chance anytime soon on such helpful pitches. It's either a temperament issue ( the more likely reason ) or he is hiding a niggle. As it is difficult to gauge one's temperament before he actually plays s bit for India, we need to create a pool of genuine pacers and try them out. As you rightly say, we have to look for the next Bumrah and Shami and not be content with adequate support bowlers. And creating a pool of new genuine pacers and trying them out is the only way forward. We have quite a few of them. Where will the next Bumrah, Shami come from? Players are trashing themselves. They are being given chances to succeed, Prasidh playing so few FC matches and yet being given place in Indian team is proof that his talent was always rated high by someone. Umran went from starting fast bowler for his IPL team and being sidelined for someone else. You as player need to improve after getting chances. Young fast bowlers unable to find spots even in their zonal teams is not a good sign for their growth.Talent can get you in the door but you as a player also need to do something with your chances. Prasidh has to blame himself if he finds out of the Indian team. Jaydev_Unadkat 1 Link to comment

G_B_
If you cant make an impact on pitch in cape town then it will be hard to make any impact at all. Poor tour in general on different types of decks. Needs consistent performances on A tours and Ranji to be considered. Varun Aaron 2.0 comes to mind. Suhaan 1 Link to comment
Number
I believe drafting him directly into national team after injury was a bad move. You can do that for someone like Bumrah who has a proven track record but a rookie like Prasidh needs to play some domestic cricket and assessed before making a come back. Signs were there when he bowled badly in Ireland. Did well in one ODI he played against Aus then against showed poor control in T20s against Australia. After the injury, the zip that he used to get earlier is gone. He needs to sort that out by playing domestic cricket. Suhaan, coffee_rules, tweaker and 2 others 1 4 Link to comment
