LordPrabhzy Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Nothing will happen to him- if he is lying and committing fraud essentially to not play Ranjis,, BCCI should theoretically terminate his central contract and terminate his IPL contract too

I think they can
Suhaan Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 So this trend slowly gaining momentum More and more players will opt out of India's premier domestic competition to be available in Indian Premier League express bowling and Mosher 1 1
Lone Wolf Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Unprofessional behavior... BCCI needs to terminate his contract and bar him from playing any further professional cricket. You gotta be ruthless in these matters Frustrated, SRT100, express bowling and 1 other 1 3
cowboysfan Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 BCCI still has power but a day will come when the franchises get so big that they can dictate all cricket matters including prioritising IPL to the detriment of Domestic cricket. putrevus 1

tweaker Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 There is this mechanisms in Indian cricket which gives too much powers to seniors star cricketer's. The seniors can rest ,skip matches they like and make a comeback like nothing as happened, meanwhile such a players is selected who can be easily dumped once the star player is back. Iyer is following the same path . express bowling and SRT100 1 1

Iyer is following the same path . rotten star culture and BCCI is encouraging it by empowering IPL/ Sports management lobbies- its not about setting the right standards for cricket quality but rather to milk more money from Indian fans using star players Number and tweaker 2
putrevus Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 BCCI needs to put the clause of playing atleast one match in domestic cricket before being considered for Indian team or IPL.
Nikhil_cric Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Iyer has had a major back surgery . He will have regular issues with his back. BCCI should not be foolish enough to force players like that to play Ranji . He has every right to prioritise IPL over and FC tournament

Why are white ball specialists being selected for Tests in the first place? and they just walk back in the squad even if they are prioritising IPL preparations tweaker, bowl_out and SandeepMotta 3

I always thought that this guy was wronged by both Shastri and Kohli for not selecting him in 2019 world cup. Given his loose technique against swing, they did not lose much.
vvvslaxman Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 What took them this long? lol Some of the elite "super stars" have been doing this for years.

Still was selected for test teams from Nov 2021 regularly. Although he did well initially but still this whole selection process is just so random. Test selection is not linked with Ranji. Lobbying by IPL franchise mentors/coaches plays big role. For example SKY getting a test cap before many deserving ones. express bowling, Vijy and tweaker 3

Ive said this many times that this is reason of bizarre selections of indian teams but people like @putrevus dont seem to think its the case Number 1

Even Jaiswal played Ranji trophy. So how do you think IPl teams are influencing the selections in test cricket. Don't ask me how Pandya got selected to Indian team and became whiteball captain..

putrevus Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Now a days players playing all three formats don't have offseason to rest and recover. I can understand a player who plays all three formats wanting to rest their bodies. But players avoiding FC should be punished.
