IF Rohit is going to be the captain for this t20 world cup then wouldn't it make sense for the bcci to actually give him confidence?

They are purposely treating World cups as a joke so that viewers stop caring about them. IPL is the only tournament they want spectators to be interested in.

it may be a good short-term move from a strategic standpoint of the BCCI to devalue ICC tourneys, and amp up IPL for domestic consumption

We can have the entire 2011 ODI WC squad for this T20 WC. They have what it takes to do it at the biggest stage, no matter how old they are. BCCI has approved it. So what's the matter?
