Would be embarrassing for India to lose to Pakistan after Pakistan lost to the India H1-B Visa team.

Actually that would be perfectly on point... our B Team beat Aus in Aus in test series, and our domestic rejects beat Pak while our main team loses to all and sundry. Will highlight the fact how poor our selection policy is.

On that Dewbai pitch, winning the toss was as good as winning the match

This is true but if we had lost like Pak lost to Aus with Wade hitting 3 sixes off of Afridi to win it with an over to spare and 5 wickets......Its still bad but ok it is a T20.

However we lost by 10 wickets with 2+ overs to spare.

The 10 wickets part was humiliating. At least take a few wickets.....at least one wicket. People reasoned it as a one off performance but then it happened a year later again against England.

No doubt we didn't deserve to get through, just like in 2022. We haven't learned from our mistakes and take the same team every WT20 - top heavy, barely any batting depth, Jadeja as the lower order hitter despite his SR of less than 100, and barely any fresh faces. This time is no different. At least try out something new and give someone chances. We keep on repeating the same mistakes and expect different results. Sad part is we have wasted the best bowling lineup we had along with Bumrah.

Well the "best bowling lineup" has given us two 10 wicket defeats defending 151 and 168. The best bowling lineup did not manage to take one wicket. Not taking one wicket cannot be laid at the feet of the batsmen.

For example in the semifinal of the recent ODI WC when the batsmen score 397, the best bowling lineup managed to win the game dismissing NZ for 327. Bravo!!   But when the score to defend in final was 241..... well you know what happened. Travis Head.

Compare the shaky bowling of 1983 team..... defending 183 versus the Windies in 60 overs, they got the opposition out for 140. But they were not the "best bowling lineup".

It does when batting has failed almost every time in the crunch. Not even once has our batsmen have showed up and put up an above-par total. On a patta in Adelaide we posted a total of 160 odd where the average 1st innings total is around 190. We let Livingstone bowl 3 overs for 19 runs. In that tourney our PP scores were lower than even what the associates put together.

Yet, we take the same TTF batting lineup everywhere. I'm expecting the same story here as well. They will get into Super 8s, and at max sneak into semis. And there they'll face someone like Eng who will show how outdated our batting lineup and team composition is. I'll wait for one stellar performance innings by our superstars in a knockout - the kind played by Head twice last year (WTC, and WC 2023 finals). Or something which Marlon Samuels played twice in finals. Or even something similar to Gambhir's knocks in finals. At the end of the day T20 is a batsman's game and they need to show up.

2022 bowling sucked.

I remember Jarrod Kimber saying that India doesn't wins ICC tournaments coz they have safe batters and safe bowlers who don't take much wickets or try to blow the opposition away.

Last 2 T20 WC we have gone with safe bowlers who can win you games against minnows consistently but can never blow the opposition away in a crunch game.

Boobie bhaiya Chahal Ashwin Jadeja they are core problem with our cricket.

Over all reasons Ind fails to win big tournaments imo :::

  • with all the resources available and the only sports in the cntry Ind has not been able to set-up an invincible side like Aus or Wi in their era. Invincible-- Having all bases covered and no weakness
  •  Ind's top game is not far from their regular game (thats why Ind wins bilateral series against teams like NZ with a sweat but in big games NZ gives Ind tough times), i.e. players do nt have reserve tanks for big games. Other teams like Aus who are not best team right now but still able to win ICC trophies because their players have large reserve tanks for big games, and their top game is far ahead of their regular games.
  • Over all Ind cricketing system is structured for  individual to succeed rather the team to succeed. eg- Dhoni played in T20Is for so long at no#4/5/6 with strike rate below 120 at a place you need big hitters, Rahane played for years with average below 40 and he was the vice-captain
  • There are no exceptional players, like no x-factor(be it a player or any discipline ) which separates you from other teams.
  • And then there are selection issue and other major but not top issues

In 90s and most of 2000s these contests were overhyped because Pak was formidable, and also we were never title favorites. But last 10 years we enter every tournament as top 2-3 contenders, so anything less than trophy should be a failed campaign. Unless we meet Pak in some ICC KO, these games are only for PR.

Back then they didn't right the draw to have an India-Pak game in every frickin world cup. Now we keep playing these guys every few months and the rarity and grudge factor is gone.
