Mohd Shahid stood out in a weak team in 80s (oversaw some of our worst humiliations), skilful but Dhanraj Pillay was an upgraded Shahid in a tougher era. Dhanraj had GOAT potential and could have been top 5 but his selfishness, toxicity, politics, ego harmed Indian hocket a lot and made us underachieve. Don't like Sardara for same reason, but he was a saint compared to Dharnraj. Ajit Pal though not as talented made us better than sum of our parts, and a fantastic leader of men, captain of the WC winning team. 

 

Number of skilful players from 2000s but didn't achieve much. Dilip Tirkey most underrated, great defender, an actual legend who commanded respect, spiritual predecessor of someone like Rohidas and many of the recent products from Odisha. Tirkey was like the hockey equivalent of Thiago Silva.

Worse is why cant we have even a single contestant in break dancing?? Every one is a dancing expert nowadays..A million Dance Reality shows..

Don't know much about pre-00s hockey other than what has been written about Dhyan Chand - but this team couldn't have got this far without Sreejesh. Were Leslie and Balbir Singh as dominant in the team?

Only know Dhyan Chand, Tirkey, Pillai and Srijeesh and Pargat Singh. Out of which Dhyan Chand I am assuming was the best almost bradman of hockey based on chapters in Hindi text book. 
 

After that only followed Srijesh.

 

So Dhyan Chand-Srijesh- insert anyone else as I don’t care. Maybe Harmanpreet a close 3rd

Both carried Indian hockey post independence to 3 consecutive golds. 

 

Winning 1948 gold in London Olympics was a milestone moment for us, beating our former oppressors in their home so soon after independence. Very famous gold medal match, GBR beat Pak in the SF. 

 

Leslie was a halfback, less glamorous position. Balbir Sr. was centre forward and greatest goal scorer along with Dhyan Chand.

There are quite a lot of large landholders that don't pay taxes. Anyways the bigger problem is that many rich people falsely show themselves as farmers to evade taxes. Need to close this loophole.

Who the heck knows how they judge these shows? 

 

IMO, a lot of contemporary dancing is rubbish. I don't even know how this can be an Olympic sport. This is art.

no. rocky is a movie boxer. if you pull some of the moves like rocky, you will get punched by drago. actually ludgren claimed stallone wanted him to give actual shots to make the movie realistic. lundgren complied and stallone had to go to the hospital after the take
