no. rocky is a movie boxer. if you pull some of the moves like rocky, you will get punched by drago. actually ludgren claimed stallone wanted him to give actual shots to make the movie realistic. lundgren complied and stallone had to go to the hospital after the take

I want Aman and Indian Boxers and Wrestlers to develop the image like Rocky has that he/they are being discarded and then he finds a girl friend and then he comes out all gun blazing in his bout.

That macho man feeling before fight.

Don't want to start a political debate here but that randua Tharoor bsdk is ready to start riots whenever Sanju Samson is dropped but hardly ever praises Sreejesh.

Shows that his only motive is to sow discords among Indians of different states, not to raise voice of Keralites.

This is why that idiot Tharoor won’t praise Sreejesh. He is too much of a communal person.

Our hockey coach, Craig Fulton is South African born in Zimbabwe. Not English.

Let him build the team the way he sees fit, and give him a proper run of 3-4 years, joined last year only. Doing a fine job, and results are also good.

This constant chopping/changing of coaches is the reason why we couldn't develop before. We had big names like Brasa, Nobbs, Walsh, Oltmans and they would be fired after every bad CT, AG, forget WC or Olympics......sometimes tenure lasting few months before rehiring them 2 years later. That is not how you build a team.

Just need better forwards (waiting in wings) and Jugraj (couldn't make squad here) must develop his defensive game and accuracy in drag flicks (can be a good backup to Harman). Team will be as strong or even stronger in 2026 WC.

I know this constant reliance on PCs is irritating but Belgium had this phase in mid 2010s when their entire game was about finding foot in D instead of taking field goals, Fulton was assistant coach of Belgium in the past. We will evolve.

Our juniors aren't that good compared to the gora counterparts, and that is a worry. Play outdated hockey, wish HI focusses more on them.

8 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze in Olympics hockey for India.

Only top team that has never lost a bronze medal match

Beat Germany in 1968 to win bronze

Beat Netherlands in 1972 to win bronze (also last time we beat Aus in Olympics)

Beat Gemany in 2021 Tokyo

Beat Spain today

After 1968/72 we repeat the feat in 2021/24.

1980 Moscow Olympic gold is overrated because Western countries and Pak boycotted it. Only Spain was a legit threat, USSR and Poland semi threats.

Vivek Sagar Prasad was our MVP in the mid field today brilliant dribbling and created chances, a shame our forward line couldn't do anything. Lalit has been pretty disappointing and I think they need to bin Mandeep now don't do anything this tourney. Manpreet was excellent in patches but had some mediocre moments as well, same for Jarmanpreet.

Sreejesh, Harmanpreet and Rohidas carried this team.

India doesn't have an official national sport. Popular myth that hockey is national sport.

In people's minds this feeling developed because of lack of success in other sports till 1983 WC.

Jarman has promise, improved. Only against Germany did he play bad.

Lalit should have been binned 2 years ago, played his last game, Araijeet will take over his spot now. Mandeep done. Manpreet was clutch, did a great job when we were down to 10 men against Brits, but too old now.

Among forwards only Abhishek should be persisted with. Even Sukhjeet wasn't up to the mark.

Manpreet had to play out of position and do the job Rohidas was doing in the SF. Hence our midfield suffered against Germans.

Then the case of playing with 10 players for 42 minutes in a KO, managing with one less player in the squad in SF, no wonder we looked tired/jaded, slow in last quarter of SF and most of today.

Rohidas red card turned the tournament on its head in more ways than one.

Asian Champions Trophy in September this year. China hosting it.

Most of this squad will be rested, juniors will be put under the test. Hope ICF doesn't go into meltdown if we don't win there. Build the team for 2026 WC asap, half the squad that played this Olympics can play there, remaining spots we must figure out.
