Next 4 tests are home tests with no need of Reddy & Thakur. The spin trioka is settled too - Washi, Jadeja & Kuldeep. Can you blame him ? We don’t have a good no 3. Our lower is very poor. They scored 19 runs in 4 test matches. He is trying to get a good score with allrounders. Sundar has raised his hand up in last match. So sundar and Jadeja can make it up. We still need a good no3 sai in current state is not it. Needs to go back to domestics and play A tours and fix his issues.
gattaca Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 If anyone bashes gambir even after taking a young team and drawing a series after this effort. I consider them hurt because of kicking Kohli and Rohit out or Congress supporters. If the team fails after this it is fair game.
DeepSpace Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 We would have won the series if we did not have loda coach! Lord 1

But he lacks planning and execution as a coach in test cricket especially a 5 test series. Some of the selections have been baffling at best. This team’s performance will mask his shortcomings. coffee_rules Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 (edited) He is as dull and dreary as the intern selling solar roof installation in my house. Imagine him and KL in a PC or Dressing room giving motivational speeches. They will put people to sleep Edited August 5, 2025 by coffee_rules BacktoCricaddict 1

cowboysfan Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 i think it might be better if we get a dedicated Test team coach now,the players are too different to manage both and we still are a team in transition.
ShoonyaSifar Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 CT win without Bumrah Eng series 2-2, 35% without Bumrah Success with a young T29 team (though only in bilaterals) Despite his shortcomings he isn't going anywhere. Bringing onboard Sitanshu Kotak for Abhishek Nayar has brought a lot of stability in the dressing room. He comes across as a calm, balanced yin-yang kind of presence, exactly the counterweight to Gambhir’s intensity. A good mix for the coaching group to have. One area they need to have a change is the fielding coach. A young team like this should have 3-4 outstanding fielders, not be content with being a mediocre fielding unit. The current crop of youngsters is safe at best, need someone better to push them to step up. deepdynamo 1

putrevus Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 So now beating a putrid Pakistan team and other barely decent teams here is an achievement. They won overcoming his coaching and selection mistakes yesterday. If it was any decent team India would’ve lost. Pakistan proved why are they are number 8 in rankings.

India can only play whats in front of them. Adding trophies to the cabinet is always good. Also, India was playing after a long break. So, I will cut some slack. But exiciting times ahead with 15 T20s against SENA before the world cup. Its an ideal preperation. Frustrated and bouncers 2
neel roy Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Gambhir has never lost a final in his life as a player or coach except the Asia Cup Mendis magic final 2007, 2011 W cup. 2010 Asia cup. 2012 and 2014 ipl. All as a player 2025 CT and 2025 Asia Cup. 2024 IPL all as a coach.

India has eight Asia cups, yesterday he got lucky as his selections mistakes did not cost him. He is not even decent coach.

Also trying to make Gill a 3 format star, zabardasti. In interviews he always talks about star culture, takes potshots at Dhoni, Kohli....but clearly playing favorites as coach.

As a coach all I see from him are conservative tactics.Opting for extra batsman was a joke, Pakistan played like number 8 if it was any other decent side India was not going to win. His selections during England series were puke worthy.Selecting Kamboj was a joke. Siraj Mian went and beyond his capabilities to save his behind there. He has already lost more than tests than other coaches. Indian batting has evolved in t20s last couple of years as we have seen in IPL.Why is he getting credit for it.
